Offer Applies to Active and Retired Military, Plus One Guest Throughout Championship
(PINEHURST, N.C.) – The United States Golf Association (USGA) will welcome members of the armed services with complimentary tickets to the 119th U.S. Amateur Championship at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C. from Aug. 12-18.
Active and retired military, as well as veterans, will receive a complimentary gallery ticket and one guest gallery ticket for each day of the championship thanks to the support of R. Riveter and The Heritage Flag Company. Gallery tickets at the U.S. Amateur provide access to the grounds of Pinehurst No. 2 and/or No. 4. Complimentary general parking and transportation is also provided.
“Thank you to the USGA for providing the opportunity for our military men and women, active and retired, to attend this national championship,” says Phil Werz, president and CEO of the Pinehurst-Southern Pines-Aberdeen Area CVB. “These men and women have sacrificed so much for this country, it’s wonderful they will get the opportunity to witness some of the best amateur players in the world battle for the prestigious honor of being named U.S. Amateur champion.”
These special military tickets are available courtesy of R. Riveter, a handbag company founded by two military wives, and The Heritage Flag Company, the creators of beautiful American Flag-inspired wooden art pieces. Both companies are located in downtown Southern Pines and will have tickets available to pick up in stores. Tickets will also be available at Will Call onsite at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club.
The military ticket policy covers all branches of service including Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, the National Guard and Reserves.
