“We are thrilled to bring in someone with the background and credentials Julie possesses,” said Tim Cooke, Director of Instruction at The Golf Learning Center. “She has broad experience with juniors and adults alike and will help all players take their games to the next level.”
Among her many awards and honors, Cole was named in 2017 to the inaugural list of the LPGA Top 50 Teachers, presented by Women’s Golf Journal. For the past eight years, she also has been named one of the best teachers in North Carolina by Golf Digest.
“In addition to personal instruction, Julie will also focus on expanding Sea Pines Resort’s women’s golf schools and clinics,” said Cary Corbitt, Vice President, Sports & Operations, The Sea Pines Resort.
Cole played professionally on the Futures, European, and Asian tours before qualifying for the LPGA Tour in 1985. In 1987, she posted four top 10 finishes and was No. 47 on the money list.
The Findlay, Ohio, native enjoyed an outstanding athletic career in high school and earned basketball and golf scholarships to Ohio University, where she graduated in 1975. She went on to establish the Julie Cole Charity Golf Classic in Findlay, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
