FootJoy Announces Multi-Year Partnership with LPGA Star Jessica Korda

Already the #1 Shoe on the LPGA Tour, FJ Now Adds First Head-to-Toe Women’s Player

(RELEASE) — FootJoy, the #1 shoe in golf and on the LPGA Tour, has agreed to a multi-year partnership with LPGA star Jessica Korda. Jessica is the first LPGA athlete to wear FootJoy from head-to-toe, including shoes, full line women’s golf apparel and a golf glove.

Already the #1 shoe and glove on the LPGA Tour, chosen by players like Ariya and Maya Jutanugarn, Brittany Lincicome, Austin Ernst, Bronte Law and countless others, Jessica will be the first player to wear FJ women’s apparel.

“I’m super excited to be part of the FootJoy team going forward and honored to be the first LPGA player to represent the brand from head to toe,” said Korda.

“I spend a lot of time figuring out what shoes and apparel are best for my game and to work with a company that only focuses on the game of golf is such an awesome advantage. They really understand my needs as a player.”

Not surprisingly, this commitment to determining the best products for her game has led Korda to be a fixture amongst the game’s elite players.

A six-time winner, her most recent victory came last year at the 2021 Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions where she won on the first playoff hole. This capped a tremendous year in which she made the cut in all 17 events that she competed. She has already amassed two top 10 finishes in four events this season, including a solo second at the season’s first major championship.

However, she is truly a global ambassador for the women’s game having earned wins in Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and in the Bahamas. She has also competed in three Solheim Cup events and represented the United States on the 2020 Olympic Team in Tokyo.

Throughout the testing process, Jessica has experimented with a wide range of shoes. She has enjoyed the variety of shoes offered by FJ but also knows what works best for her game.

“It’s so great to work with this incredible team, and there are just so many options which is one of the coolest things. It’s not just one shoe for every type of player.”

“My swing is so feel-oriented and it honestly goes from my feet up, where I can notice things like how firm or soft the ground and can sense any breaks in the greens. That’s where the shot process starts for me and then I make my decisions from there. That’s why footwear is such an important piece of equipment for me.”

“I also focus on how the shoe holds during impact. I need enough stability to hold my foot in place while also allowing me to roll my left foot a little bit.”

Jessica will also be wearing apparel from the Women’s GolfLeisure® line and has been working closely with the team to not only find items that fit her style but also influencing products in the development process based on her experience as a female athlete and one of the best female golfers in the world.

Said Korda: “I really like the materials they use. They’re very flattering, the colors are excellent and everything is so comfortable whether you’re playing golf or wearing them off the course.”

“Like footwear, they just have so many options for women, whether it’s long sleeve, short sleeve, pants, skorts or sun protection items. These are important to golfers, but also women in general.”

Jessica will continue her season at the U.S. Women’s Open at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, NC.

Five Branson Courses Voted Best in Missouri Including Top Four in State

Destination Shines in ‘Golfweek’s Best’ Annual Rankings

(BRANSON, MISSOURI) Golfweek rates Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, Branson Hills, and Payne’s Valley as the top four courses in Missouri in that order and LedgeStone at No. 7 in its annual compilation of the nation’s finest courses by category.

Ozarks National (Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw course design) and Buffalo Ridge (Tom Fazio and Johnny Morris) also garnered distinction in the “Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in America” list that was included in the just-published 2022 Golfweek’s Best compendium, ranking nos. 49 and 82, respectively.

“We’re thrilled that our destination’s golf options are so highly regarded by Golfweek raters,” said Lynn Berry, Explore Branson, Director of Communications. “Considering there are roughly 17,000 golf courses in the United States, to have five of our 10 courses recognized as ‘best-in-kind’ demonstrates why golf travelers should consider choosing Branson for their next getaway.”

To determine the Golfweek’s Best rankings, the media outlet’s international course-ratings panel continually evaluate courses and rate them using 10 criteria on a 10-point scale. The raters also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce a cumulative rating for each course, which is then ranked against other layouts.

Branson Hills (Chuck Smith-Bobby Clampett), Payne’s Valley (Tiger Woods) and LedgeStone (Tom Clark) complement Ozarks National and Buffalo Ridge as top-ranked playing options.

Branson’s five other courses are Top of the Rock (Jack Nicklaus), Mountain Top (Gary Player), Thousand Hills (Bob Cupp), The Pointe, and Holiday Hills. Top of the Rock and Mountain Top are award-winning par-3 courses, a welcome addition in golf trips where players tee up 18-holers in the morning, then add afternoon “short course” rounds. Thousand Hills has often earned “favorite course” status among area golfers, while The Pointe and Holiday Hills provide additional popular playing options.

The two short courses and Ozarks National, Buffalo Ridge, and Payne’s Valley are amenities of Big Cedar Lodge.

All 10 courses in the destination are located near one another as well as hundreds of restaurants, lodging options, and after-golf attractions. Branson is the No. 3 rated tourism destination in America according to Trip Advisor, a place where live entertainment theatres, lakes, museums, a world-famous theme park (Silver Dollar City), and family friendly activities proliferate.

PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet nominated for ‘World’s Best New Golf Course’ at World Golf Awards

Vietnam’s newest premier golf destination continues to receive industry acclaim as the PGA Ocean Course is recognized for its stunning championship layout

(Phan Thiet, Vietnam) — PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet has been nominated for the ‘World’s Best New Golf Course’ at the 2022 World Golf Awards, as it continues to gain international recognition as one of Vietnam’s best golfing destinations.

Designed by former World Number One golfer Greg Norman, the stunning 7,400-yard PGA Ocean Course has been shortlisted for its unique championship layout, combining a mixture of parkland and links-style golf with stylishly rugged bunkers that punctuate the undulating fairways, showcasing a variety of panoramic views.

Originally opened in April 2021, the course is renowned for its signature ‘mini fairway’ tees, measuring up to 100-metres in length and allowing every hole to be set up in different ways to offer a varied challenge for every standard of golfer – from the world’s best professionals to relative beginners.

Made with 100% Zoysia grasses, which use less fertiliser and require less water, the PGA Ocean Course was also built with the environment in mind, helping to ensure every visitor has a truly exceptional golfing experience.

Now entering its ninth year, the World Golf Awards celebrates and rewards excellence in golf tourism, world-class courses and golf destinations. Winners are chosen by professionals working within the golf travel and tourism industry, as well as general consumers who have experienced nominated venues first hand.

Andrew Bowles, Nova Golf Clubs – Managing Director, said: “It is amazing to see the PGA Ocean Course shortlisted for such a prestigious award so soon after opening. Everyone at the club has worked extremely hard to create one of the best golfing experiences in Vietnam and this nomination is recognition of that. Golf is central to the wider offer at the NovaWorld Phan Thiet integrated resort, and as more people come to visit, we are excited to demonstrate the outstanding course conditioning, playability and unique challenge offered by both the PGA Ocean and Garden Courses.”

The PGA Ocean Course is one of two championship courses that can be found at the Club, with the PGA Garden Course having opened at the start of 2022. Inspired by the iconic ‘Sandbelt’ region of Melbourne, this second layout is one of the most beautiful in the region and designed to be the exclusive training centre for PGA Academies students in Vietnam.

PGA NovaWorld Phan Thiet is one of many key sporting complexes as part of NovaWorld Phan Thiet, a 1,000-hectare oceanside project located in Phan Thiet City. One of more than 200 projects to be taking place in the province, the city will be connected to Ho Chi Minh City in less than two hours via the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet Highway when it opens in late 2022.

The ninth annual World Golf Awards gala ceremony will take place at the Park Hyatt Dubai on Thursday 17th November 2022.

New Shot Scope User Dashboard Helps Golfers Improve Through Enhanced On-Course Performance Data Management System

(Edinburgh, UK) — Shot Scope, the industry-leader in advanced GPS and automatic shot tracking technology, has unveiled an innovative user dashboard designed to help golfers improve through an enhanced on course performance data management system.

The Shot Scope online user dashboard is an interactive space for golfers to manage their data – whether post round editing of around or a mid-week analysis of overall game improvement. The new dashboard is a great tool for any golfer seeking more clarity on where to make changes in their game and it can be used in varying capacities.

“Creating a dashboard that is user friendly and visually appealing, yet highly effective in enhancing the delivery of on course performance data, is something we always strive to achieve,” said Gavin Dear, CCO of Shot Scope. “The online dashboard is great when used in conjunction with our mobile app, as users can get a broader understanding of different areas of their game. We always look to provide a platform where users can interact with their data in however they feel most comfortable.”

The new Shot Scope user dashboard can be viewed on a larger screen, making some of the data easier to navigate and analyze in more detail. This includes post-round editing, with the enlarged screen creating a simple and easy way to view and enter data from your round. In addition, the filtering system allows golfers to process their data in an efficient manner that suits their needs. They can filter statistics by club, yardage, round, year and more – a thorough way to generate a wealth of information across multiple categories.

An enhanced feature to the dashboard is strokes gained, which allows golfers to access a plethora of statistics on all areas of their game. When working through the different categories, users can compare an overview of performance within each, with the strokes gained data working in tandem to offer an increased depth of knowledge. With a sleek look and impressive functionality, the exclusive user dashboard is host to all the data any golfer should need to fully immerse themselves in learning about how to improve their game.

The new user dashboard comes on the heels of Shot Scope introducing the innovative PRO LX+ device. A first-of-its-kind rangefinder, the PRO LX+ system includes three devices which are sold as one unit, the PRO LX+, featuring GPS-powered distances and performance tracking, or individually as the PRO LX Rangefinder and H4 Game Tracker. Today, with research showing that modern golfers rely on multiple GPS devices, players of all levels now have one device - PRO LX+ - that provides all of the on-course technology they need in one system.

“Shot Scope is thrilled to unveil this game-changing device to the golf industry, as we introduce GPS distance and performance tracking technology to laser rangefinder users for the first time ever,” adds Dear “Our V3 Smart Watch was a tremendous success when launched in 2020, and now we are bringing that same artificial intelligence to rangefinders and giving golfers a multi-product system that is offered at a price point for every budget.”

Dear adds, “For rangefinder users, Shot Scope now offers real-time game tracking data like never before, which is currently used by tens of thousands of golfers worldwide recording over 180 million shots. In fact, our data shows that amateur golfers improve by four strokes thanks to the unique fusion of accurate distance information and automatic performance tracking technology from Shot Scope devices.”

Shot Scope PRO LX+

The PRO LX+ features a wealth of golfer-friendly benefits including, advanced target lock vibration, red and black dual optics, X7 navigation, adaptive slope technology, 900-yard range which is accurate to 1 yard, a precision clear lens and a comfort stability grip. Additionally, the PRO LX+ offers 36,000 pre-loaded courses, dynamic front, back and middle GPS distances with front and carry distances to every hazard, all distances are available in yards or meters. Available at $349.99 SRP with no subscription fees and free updates.

The PRO LX+, which is available in blue, gray and orange colors, also features Shot Scope’s artificial intelligence for performance tracking via the H4 Game Tracker which magnetically attaches to the rangefinder. Backed by 16 RFID tracking tags that capture over 100 game statistics during a round of golf, the performance tracking capability works in the background and continuously scans the golfer’s swing settings. This creates an ever-increasing volume and accuracy of data collected from the golfer during play, leading to more insights and statistics that help the player understand their game better, improve on-course strategy and shoot lower scores. The water-resistant PRO LX+, which is USGA conforming, also comes with a premium carry case, lanyard, carry clip, cleaning cloth and 1 x CR123 battery.

All Shot Scope products can be purchased at Dicks Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, PGA Superstores, golf specialty stores or online at www.shotscope.com

Four Los Cabos Resorts Receive Golf Digest Editors' Choice Awards

Cabo Del Sol, Grand Solmar, One&Only Palmilla, and Quivira garner accolades

(Los Cabos, Mexico) – Four leading resorts in Los Cabos, the undisputed ‘Golf Capital of Latin America,’ have received a 2022 Editors’ Choice Award from Golf Digest in the ‘Best Golf Resorts in Mexico & Central America’ category.

“This is Year 7 of our annual Editors’ Choice Awards package, offering once again an assortment of products that can help golfers play better, smarter and healthier in 2022,” the magazine stated. “Additionally, we also recognize top destinations and travel-related services in hopes that golf trips will be something we can all enjoy again.

“Golfers dream big,” the awards report continued. ”We all want to play the greatest courses and stay in the most luxurious hotels and inns, and when our thoughts drift to where we might travel, we often settle on the legendary destinations.”

That includes Los Cabos, the dazzling Land’s End getaway at the tip of the Baja Peninsula that claimed four of the eight spots in its bracket, more than any other destination in Mexico & Central America.

Heading the winner’s list is Cabo Del Sol, the 36-hole facility credited with putting Los Cabos on the international golf map when its Ocean Course debuted in 1994. Renamed the Cove Club and reopened in 2019 with new holes, rebuilt bunkers, improved playing surfaces and a new landscape scheme, the layout occupies what course designer Jack Nicklaus once described as “the best golf property I’ve ever seen.” Holes stretch across a stunning desert landscape touched by the Sea of Cortes and framed by rugged mountains. Tall cardon cacti and tawny granite outcrops stake out the fairways and greens. Comfort stations on both nines offer Mexican specialties and ice-cold refreshments. The Cove Club is now a members-only facility.

Cabo Del Sol’s second venue is the Desert Course, a Tom Weiskopf design circa 2001 that scales craggy desert foothills crisscrossed by canyon-like arroyos, with an ocean view from every hole. Modified for real estate development, the current 12-hole course, in play through early November, offers an enticing blend of long and short holes as well as numerous risk-reward options. Broad fairways framed by granite rock outcrops and large sculpted bunkers characterize the design.

Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design has been retained to build several new holes in rugged terrain north of the existing layout, which will be known as Cabo Del Sol Golf Club when it reopens. It will function as ‘resort private,’ with course access available to guests of the on-site Hacienda del Mar and Grand Fiesta Americana hotels. Fry/Straka will remodel pre-existing holes to match the design style of their new creations. Final completion of the $15 million course makeover is expected by 2024.

Also receiving a 2022 Editors’ Choice Award is Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas. Centerpiece of an 834-acre resort and residential community set in a thick cactus forest that transitions to sand hills and the sea, the development’s hotel is walking distance from a Greg Norman Signature course opened in 2020. Known for his ‘least-disturbance’ design approach, Norman created a low-profile, links-style layout at Rancho San Lucas. Earthmoving was kept to a minimum: the site’s native contours were retained. Spanning three different ecosystems, the 7,210-yard layout rambles through huge windswept dunes, climbs through groves of giant cardon cacti creased by winding arroyos, and returns players to the dunes at the finish. The layout’s defining feature is its revetted pot bunkers. These steep-walled sandy pits were constructed from recycled artificial turf and are nearly identical to the natural sod-walled bunkers found on British links courses.

In addition to a pair of on-course comfort stations, a handsome ranchero-style clubhouse overlooks the fairways and sea. Rancho San Lucas is a private club with access available to guests of Solmar Group hotels, including the on-site Grand Solmar at Rancho San Lucas Resort.

One&Only Palmilla earns its moniker as the “Grande Dame” of Los Cabos. Palmilla Golf Club, the first Jack Nicklaus Signature course in Latin America, is located five minutes from a legendary hideaway built in 1956 by the son of a former president of Mexico. The glamour and ambience of the original resort was carefully preserved at One&Only Palmilla, which reopened in 2004 following a $90 million expansion and refurbishment. This ultra-luxe property, continuously upgraded to retain its iconic status, is set on a rocky promontory that juts into the Sea of Cortes, its protected sandy coves fronting azure-blue waters calm enough for swimming.   The hotel is a perennial favorite of Hollywood A-listers.

Palmilla’s Mountain and Arroyo nines, chiseled into in a box-shaped canyon walled in by steep stony peaks, set the stage for top-shelf golf in Los Cabos when the core 18 opened in 1992. Routed around boulder-strewn arroyos and cactus-covered foothills, Palmilla was the first course in the hemisphere to partake of Cabo’s unique mountain, desert and ocean ecosystem. Tournament-tough from the tips, the layout’s wide fairways and open-entry greens accommodate players of lesser attainment. The club’s Ocean nine, featuring a 600-foot elevation change that carries players from the mountains to the sea, opened in 1999.

The final Editors’ Choice Award was claimed by Quivira Golf Club, a spectacular layout grafted onto a jaw-dropping site at the exact place where the Sea of Cortes meets the Pacific Ocean. Arguably the most daring and eclectic course Jack Nicklaus has ever built, Quivira, his sixth design in Los Cabos, is an engineering marvel that presents an unforgettable test from any set of tees.

Highlighted by risk-reward options and breathtaking drops from tee to fairway, Quivira offers more oceanfront exposure than any other course in Los Cabos. This breezy, multi-themed layout starts at sea level, climbs the face of a mountain, tiptoes along sheer granite cliffs, zigzags through massive sloping dunes, and ambles across rolling desert foothills. A Nicklaus favorite is the short par-4 fifth hole, its slanted fairway wedged between a shouldering dune on the right and a vertical cliff on the left 275 feet above the tossing sea. The target is a semi-blind, cliff-hanging green tucked well below the fairway.

An all-inclusive facility, Quivira serves Mexican fare and refreshments at four comfort stations, including the open-air Oasis set above the eighth green. The private club is accessible to guests of Pueblo Bonito Golf & Spa Resorts’ five properties. Golfers gravitate to the nearby Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort, a deluxe adults-only beachfront property where the accommodations, spa and dining options are exceptional.

BIG MAX Receives Editor’s Choice Award for Seventh Consecutive Year

(RELEASE)
— BIG MAX, Europe’s No.1 push cart brand is celebrating its seventh consecutive Golf Digest Editor’s Choice Award after the fold-flat Autofold FF won in the Compact Push Cart category. This marks the third Golf Digest Editor’s Choice award for the Autofold FF, matching the three-peat of wins achieved by it’s fold flat companion, the Blade IP.

“I know it’s traditional to say Lucky Seven, but seven Golf Digest Editor’s Choice awards in a row is far more than lucky,” commented Rick Oldach, CEO of BIG MAX USA. “BIG MAX are the #1 push cart and golf bag brand in Europe by some distance and Golf Digest have consistently recognized the quality that we bring to the market.  Whether it’s the ultra flat Blade IP, the 4-wheel Blade Quattro, or the three time Editor’s Choice Award winning Autofold FF, BIG MAX continues to gain the recognition it deserves on this side of the Atlantic.”

The success of the Autofold FF is based on the folding mechanism that is still unique in the market. All three wheels automatically fold under the cart in one simple movement, leaving a Flat Folded unit that is small enough to fit in virtually any car trunk with a golf bag on top. When combined with its robust construction, 5 year manufacturer warranty and neat practical features such as large storage compartment, foot brake and Quick Fix points for accessories such as umbrella holder, the Autofold FF is the gold standard for stylish practicality on the course.

Oldach concludes, “The Autofold FF and Blade IP now each have a three-peat of wins with one more for the Blade Quattro. We will take time to enjoy the accolade, but I’m looking forward to seeing if either of them can break the deadlock next year!”

The Autofold FF is available in golf stores nationwide as well as on the BIG MAX website at us.bigmaxgolf.com.

— Officials from aboutGOLF and the PGA of America today announced the completion of a custom, multi-simulator wall at the new PGA of America headquarters in Frisco, Texas. This one-of-a kind simulator setup will include seven hitting bays with open-concept, “driving-range style” stalls.

"We are honored to unveil our aboutGOLF Simulator platform tailored for the new PGA of America Education Center Headquarters,” said aboutGOLF CEO Ken Kamada.  “Knowing that our 3Trak machine vision technology will be used in the PGA of America’s education curriculum where over 30,000 PGA Professional Instructors teach millions of golfers annually validates our industry leading platform. Giants Ridge Kicks Off Eventful 2022 Golf Season

Highlights Include 25th Anniversary of The Legend, Value-Laden Golf Packages

(BIWABIK, Minn.) Giants Ridge – Minnesota’s leading golf resort set in the rugged beauty of the Mesabi Iron Range – commenced its 2022 golf season on May 13 with multiple specials ideal for those looking to escape up north this summer and a special silver anniversary for its Legend course.

A convenient three-hour drive from the Minneapolis – St. Paul metro area, Giants Ridge boasts two of the highest ranked layouts in state, The Quarry and The Legend. Although both tracts were designed by renowned course architect Jeffrey Brauer, each course features its own unique layout and character.

The highlight of the 2022 golf season is the 25th anniversary of the Legend Course. Established in 1997, The Legend is credited with creating the golf scene in the Iron Range of Minnesota and spearheading that region into becoming a world-renowned golf destination. Carved out of the Superior National Forest, the player-friendly resort course plays through towering pines and alongside glittering Sabin Lake.

The appropriately named Quarry is built on the site of a former sand quarry and iron ore mine and often considered the best public golf course in Minnesota. Dramatically raised tees and hazards forged from reclaimed and repurposed mine land set The Quarry apart from other courses and provide dramatic Iron Range vistas.

Beginning June 3, The 37-Hole Golf Special package includes golf with cart on both of Giants Ridge’s award-winning courses along with range balls and yardage book. Labeled “Minnesota’s Greatest Value in Golf,” this offer also features lunch between rounds for a price of just $175 on weekdays and $190 on weekends.

For guests interested in a slightly slower-paced resort experience, the Nine and Dine Special includes nine holes of golf for two on either championship layout after 2 p.m. and dinner for two at the Wacootah Grille or The Burnt Onion Kitchen & Brews, two unique and delicious dining establishments. Price does not include tax, and dinners include select menu items.

“After a long winter, we are ecstatic to open the 2022 golf season and once again welcome golf groups to the resort,” says John Kendall, Director of Golf. “Our golf packages are the perfect way to experience The Quarry, The Legend, and the outstanding amenities that cement Giants Ridge as a premier golf destination in the Midwest.”

Giants Ridge continues to shine as one of Minnesota’s best golf destinations. In addition to Golf Digest’s Best Golf Resorts in the Midwest honor for the fourth year running, Giants Ridge achieved lofty status in Golfweek’s latest public course rankings. The Quarry maintained its top-35 ranking from the year prior. The splendid resort and its courses have also received accolades from GOLF Magazine, MyGolfSpy and GolfPass.

Golf groups can savor early season prices as low as $82 to play one of the Brauer’s highly touted championship designs.

Growing the Future of Golf Through STEM Education

SiteOne Landscape Supply teamed up with Detroit based non-profit to provide hands-on industry experience to build their own courses

(ROSWELL, Ga.) – SiteOne Landscape Supply is proud to team up with Detroit-based non-profit, Hollywood Golf Institute, to positively impact the lives of nearly 30 students as they learn important STEM lessons related to golf course design. The students began their project work in January 2022 and put the final touches on their greens on May 14, 2022.

Founded by Selina Johnson, Hollywood Golf Institute’s mission is to teach children the fundamentals of the game. Johnson’s extensive industry experience has earned her prestigious awards, including the first African American woman to receive the prestigious Card Walker Award for outstanding contributions to junior golf. She’s also been awarded the first International Afro-American Sports Hall of Fame based in Detroit, Michigan and the African American Golfers’ Hall of Fame “West Palm Beach.” In 2021, Johnson expanded Hollywood Golf’s mission to include invaluable STEM lessons applicable to the sport.

“Detroit metropolitan area schools don’t offer golf course or agriculture science programs like they did years ago,” said Dawn Hicks, Detroit area business manager (southeastern Michigan) at SiteOne. “So after speaking with Selina and hearing her vision for the project, we jumped at the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students of Hollywood Golf and influence the green industry with this STEM project.”

SiteOne organized sessions with its various business categories to talk with the students. In January, students met with SiteOne. They studied irrigation practices and discussed the evolving technology in smart controllers, spoke with the agronomics team to learn about turf seed and fertilizing practices, met with HR and marketing—all jobs that are required to either build or manage a course.

“Golf is inches, feet and yards, so not only is that part of how we layout a golf course, but it’s the fundamentals of math,” said Selina Johnson, Founder and Owner of Hollywood Golf Institute. “When we had SiteOne come and show the development of a course—moving tractors, laying out the water lines for an irritation system, the students got so excited. I am very grateful to SiteOne for their generous support of this program. With continued education and programs like this one, I see a bright future for students and the game I’m passionate about.”

“The partnership with SiteOne and Hollywood Golf is more than learning the game—it’s giving children life skills. Programs like this are vital to help children in our communities achieve their dreams,” said Hicks.

As the number one distributor in the nation, SiteOne is proud to partner with organizations committed to being a good neighbor in the communities they serve and making the green industry Stronger TogetherTM. Learn how to support Hollywood Golf Institute at HollywoodGolfIns.com.

Ladies’ Premier Golf-Lifestyle Apparel Brand LOHLA SPORT to be Featured at 2022 Indianapolis 500

(LOS ANGELES, Calif.)
– Continuing one of the most unique sponsorships in sports marketing history, premier ladies’ golf-lifestyle apparel brand LOHLA SPORT will partner with Stefan Wilson and Cusick Motorsports at the 106th Running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 29.

For the second consecutive year, the chic LOHLA SPORT logo will be prominently displayed as the title partner on the No. 25 DragonSpeed / Cusick Motorsports Chevrolet, driven by Stefan Wilson and now in partnership with AJ Foyt Racing.  The 32-year-old Brit is a fan favorite, coming within four laps of winning the 2018 Indianapolis 500 and finishing third in the 2011 Indy Lights Championship.  Wilson is past winner of the coveted McLaren Autosport BRDC Award.

The partnership was conceived by Don Cusick, a LOHLA SPORT shareholder and lifelong race car enthusiast.  The intersection of his two passions, golf and racing, lies in each sport’s obsessed fan and participant base.  The golf bug has bitten wining drivers Michael and Darrell Waltrip, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordan, Dale Jarrett, Rusty Wallace, Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson while PGA TOUR stars Dustin Johnson, Ian Poulter and Matt Kuchar have taken laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

For decades, PGA, Champions and LPGA Tour events were played at Brickyard Crossing golf course located in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway complex.

“Representing LOHLA SPORT at the 106th running of the greatest spectacle in racing is again one of the coolest, most unique opportunities of my career,” says Wilson.  “We enjoyed such a great partnership with the brand last year and I’m excited we get to build on that success. LOHLA SPORT is very popular golf and it’s amazing how many racing fans are golfers and vice versa.”

“Taking this market-broadening road to Indy doesn’t happen every day,” says Lisa O’Hurley, Founder and CEO of LOHLA SPORT.  “LOHLA SPORT is designed for women who love golf and who are fans of all sports as our outfits are fit for the course, court, racetrack and everywhere between.”

LOHLA SPORT reached new heights in popularity with the recent drop of tis “The Streets of Los Angeles collection depicting the distinct vibes of city neighborhoods.  Its “Rodeo Drive,” “Ocean Avenue,” “Hollywood Boulevard,” “Sunset Boulevard” and “Melrose Place capsules feature stylish, playful and classy coordinated tops, bottoms, skorts, outerwear and headwear.  Cuts are flattering yet not overtly sexy, made of fine-quality fabrics sourced worldwide and optimize athletic movements.

Buoyed by a “comfortable chic” aesthetic, LOHLA SPORT is attracting a massive following as the company creates a “golfleisure” movement akin to Lululemon and the “athleisure” craze.

Early this year, LOHLA SPORT partnered with golf legend Annika Sorenstam for the golf legend to exclusively wear the brand’s apparel in golf tournaments and other activities.  More recently, it signed highly touted LPGA Tour player Maude LeBlanc to a similar role.

Stewart Golf Follow Carts Earn Multiple Awards

Superior Follow Technology Sets Industry Standard

(Gloucester, U.K.) — British remote trolley manufacturer Stewart Golf has been named as ‘Editor’s Choice’ by two of the golf industry’s leading consumer titles: Golf Monthly and Today’s Golfer.

Judges at both UK-based publications chose just 100 products to feature on their lists, including the latest clubs, apparel, bags, and balls. All selections were based solely on merit.

Stewart Golf was one of only three electric golf cart brands to be featured on both lists, confirming the British manufacturer’s position as the Leader in FollowÒ technology.

Golf Monthly said: “The Q Follow looks to have become the leader in electric trolley design and functionality. Ultimately, it’s great fun to use and with practice the switching between modes and use of the handset becomes second nature. Yes, it’s expensive, but there truly is nothing else like this out there.”

Today’s Golfer said: “Stewart Golf’s electric trolleys are very much like Bentleys – they’re made in Britain with high-quality materials, you don’t see them at every turn and new models only come to market after years of hard work and innovation. And that’s exactly the case with the Q Follow.”

The two awards come after U.S. website MyGolfSpy named the Q Follow as the ‘Best Following Electric Cart,’ commenting that “the Q Follow is as close as you can get to your own personal caddy” while ranking it #1 in ease of use, features, and maneuverability.

The Q Series has been a huge success since its launch and continues to be a product in demand on a global scale, driving the rapid growth Stewart Golf has experienced in the last 24 months.

Stewart Golf CEO Mark Stewart said, “Obviously we’re delighted that the Q Follow has been recognized by three of the world’s leading golf media outlets. Owners the world over love the Q Follow for the unrivaled on-course experience it provides while being the smallest folding follow trolley on the market.”

The Q Follow electric caddies start at $2,499. Other models produced by Stewart Golf include the Q Remote, X Series, and R Series (push carts).

Some of golf’s most popular social media influencers, including Paige Spiranac, who has more than 7.5 million followers, will be participating in the event, which will be held Sept. 23-25. A field of 24 social media stars will take part in the 36-hole tournament.

As part of the sponsorship, the event will be named the Union Green Social Scramble and there will be on-course activation space provided each day. Union Green will also be the exclusive golf ball of the tournament and it will supply balls, hats and apparel for player gift bags.

“Union Green, with its emphasis on growing the game at the grass roots level, is the perfect partner for the Social Scramble,” said tournament director Scott Tomasello. “We want to attract passionate golfers who consume the game through what were once thought to be unconventional channels to Myrtle Beach, and with Union Green’s help, we believe this event will be a great first step.”

We are thrilled to be the title sponsor and infuse fun into every aspect of the event. See you on the green!”

The Social Scramble will tee-off with a pairings party that includes a buffet dinner and open bar on September 23, followed by golf at Grande Dunes Resort Course and Pine Lakes Country Club, two of Myrtle Beach’s most prominent facilities.

Registration for the event, which is $5,000 per foursome, is open to the public. Entry deadline is August 1 or when tournament entries reach 24 teams.

Myrtle Beach’s first golf course, Pine Lakes was the birthplace of Sports Illustrated, and the classic design underwent its own greens and bunker renovation project in 2021.

REX Hospital Open returning to Raleigh Country Club in 2023

After 18 years at The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation in North Raleigh, the popular Korn Ferry Tour event will return to the final design of renowned architect Donald Ross that put Raleigh on the golfing map. The tournament’s name will change to the UNC Health Championship presented by STITCH and the total purse will increase to $1 million for the first time, helping raise more money for charitable initiatives and attract a broader base of fans from across the state.

(RALEIGH, N.C.) — After 18 years at The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation in North Raleigh, the REX Hospital Open will return in 2023 to the site that put Raleigh on the golfing map: Raleigh Country Club. RCC, which opened in 1948 just east of downtown Raleigh, is the final design of legendary architect Donald Ross and annually ranks among the state’s best layouts.

The REX Hospital Open is the largest and most successful annual charity fundraiser for the health system and an important stop on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule. During the past three decades, the event has raised more than $10 million for patients, programs and services at UNC REX Healthcare.

In 2023, the tournament’s name will change to the UNC Health Championship presented by STITCH and the total purse will increase to $1 million for the first time. The changes are expected to help increase the tournament’s impact, raise more money for charitable initiatives and attract a broader base of fans from across the state.

Both Raleigh Country Club and The Country Club at Wakefield Plantation are owned by McConnell Golf.

“Our main reason for moving the tournament is to get closer to downtown and attract new fans,” said McConnell Golf CEO John McConnell.

McConnell Golf is the largest owner of premier private clubs in the region with a portfolio comprised of 13 18-hole, private golf courses, one semi-private and one nine-hole course in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

In 2003, McConnell purchased RCC to help preserve golf’s historic place. The McConnell Golf portfolio includes three other classic Ross designs in addition to RCC — Greensboro’s Sedgefield Country Club, which annually plays host to the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship, Country Club of Asheville and Holston Hills Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., which has played host to the Korn Ferry Tour’s Visit Knoxville Open the past two years.

McConnell Golf is the only individual golf course proprietor in the world that owns four Ross-designed courses. In 2020, McConnell Golf completed a major renovation of its historic RCC golf course, overseen by architect Kyle Franz. The focus of the project was retaining the integrity of Ross’s original design while allowing more challenges for today’s long-hitting players. The RCC renovation cost approximately $5.5 million, funded entirely by McConnell Golf, making it one of largest recent privately funded investments in East Raleigh. There were no member assessments.

Raleigh Country Club boasts a rich history of hosting professional and amateur championships:

The club hosted an LPGA event from 1966-1974. From 1966-1970, the tournament was called the Raleigh Ladies Invitational. From 1971-1972, it was called the Raleigh Golf Classic and from 1973-1974, it was called the American Defender Raleigh Classic. Judy Rankin, Carol Mann and Kathy Whitworth were some of its notable champions.

From 1998 to 2000, RCC hosted the Nike Tour/Buy.com Tour Carolina Classic prior to the move to Wakefield Plantation in 2001. Now the event returns back to RCC in 2023. Winners were Brian Bateman (1998), Vance Veazey (1998) and Mark Hensby (2000). Jimmy Green shot a first round 60 (29-31) to set the old course record in 1998 before finishing second. Green’s scorecard is on a plaque in the RCC Trophy Room.

The 2008 North Carolina Amateur Championship at RCC was won by Jack Fields on Father’s Day with his father on his bag, caddying. Fields set the then-course record with a final round 63 that included an eagle on No. 8 and double eagle on No. 12. His 3-wood/metal is on display at the home office of the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA).

The 2013 North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship at RCC was captured by North Carolina amateur sensation Scott Harvey.

In addition, numerous McConnell Golf scholarship recipients have come through RCC including Grayson Murray, Carter Jenkins, Ryan Nagy and Blake McShea. RCC’s junior members of note include Cyrus Stewart and Stephen Franken.

Now, Raleigh Country Club prepares for the next chapter of its professional championship golf history.

“We look forward to an outstanding event this year, as we begin preparations for some exciting changes to the tournament in 2023,” said Dr. Wesley Burks, CEO of UNC Health. “We believe these updates will mark a new start for one of North Carolina’s top professional tournaments, benefitting both golfers and fans alike, while supporting health and wellness in the Triangle region. As someone who loves watching and playing golf, this is a week I look forward to each year.”

Manele GC at Four Seasons Resort Lanai Introduces Complimentary Clubs

Hawaiian Resort Launches Innovative Amenity on the Golf Course

(LANAI CITY, Hawaii) — It's now easier than ever to play the award-winning Manele Golf Course at Four Seasons Resort Lanai, with the introduction of a new amenity, a first among Hawaiian golf courses. Effective July 1, guests can utilize a set of complimentary Titleist or PXG clubs while playing the Signature Jack Nicklaus 18-hole course.* The selection includes men's, women's and senior's right and left-handed sets.

Visitors to the adults-only Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort can also take advantage of the amenity when booking a round independently or as part of a Sensei package. The wellness sanctuary offers a collection of curated experiences to more structured programs, including a Golf Optimal Golf Well-being Program dedicated to improving overall condition and habits and applying those learnings to optimize golf performance.

Complimentary clubs were a natural evolution of Four Season's service extended to the golf course. Scott Ashworth, Director of Golf, says, "We focus on our guests from the time they arrive until they leave and want them to have an unforgettable round with us. By providing the complimentary rental clubs, we hope to make it even more seamless for guests to enjoy our amazing course."

The course is built on lava outcroppings and features three cliff-top holes that use the Pacific Ocean as a water hazard. Every hole boasts an ocean view which sometimes proves distracting, especially during whale watching season.

Each golf cart comes equipped with GPS and Bluetooth speakers to enjoy music during play or order food or drinks anytime. The professional staff carry out a variety of programs including clinics and Golf 101 for beginners to sessions featuring Trackman 4 technology which has the ability to video and analyse golf swings as well as assist in professional club fittings.

Golfers who prefer to use their own clubs but don't want to travel with them to Hawaii can arrange door-to-door shipping through a Four Seasons Resorts Lanai partnership with Luggage Free.

Complimentary fun events include Mini-Manele featuring six short holes on the driving range, Disc Golf or Rock N Range, an après golf experience with a cash bar, music and complimentary tips from the pros. For a family outing, accompanied by a paid adult, kids 17 and under enjoy complimentary play with junior clubs. Or for a memorable afternoon, take part in Sunset Nine and play the famous Ocean nine with complimentary rental clubs and your choice of a cocktail to close out the day.

Golf and Stay Longer with a complimentary fifth night, call for additional offers or contact a travel professional. Round-trip luxury flights on Lanai Air are included with all bookings made by August 31, for arrivals taking place by December 31, 2022 (terms and conditions apply).
