PGA of America Has Established a $2.5MM Matching Pool;Jim Furyk Headlines Prize Packages that Include A Round of Golf and Dinner for Two at TPC Sawgrass with the 2018 Ryder Cup Captain

(Portland, OR) – Vie, Inc. (www.VieForGood.com), a new sports and entertainment philanthropy company, today invited golfers of all ages and skill levels to participate in the “Chip Shot Challenge” (www.giveforgolf.com) to support the Golf Emergency Relief Fund (GERF) and provide assistance to thousands of golf industry workers impacted physically or financially by COVID-19.

“We intend to launch the Vie brand and proprietary technology later this fall,” said Steven Schwartz, Vie CEO. “But the increasing severity of the COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on golf-industry workers compelled us to act NOW. So we fast-tracked Vie’s donation engine technology to power the ‘Chip Shot Challenge’ and help bridge the funding gap for these families.”

Participation includes four easy steps:
1. Donate: at www.giveforgolf.com
2. Capture Your Chip: golfers set the challenge and take the shot, while capturing it on video. Creativity and trick shots are encouraged.
3. Challenge: someone to match or beat your shot and your donation
4. Tag/Share: your video and challenge with #ChipShotChallenge and giveforgolf.com. The best shots will be posted at giveforgolf.com/gallery.

Participation automatically provides an entry for prizes including Titleist golf equipment and Linksoul apparel.  The Grand Prize includes a private dinner and a round of golf for two with 2018 Ryder Cup Captain and PGA Legend Jim Furyk at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.

The PGA of America has established a $2.5MM matching pool for the GERF.  To the extent that funds are still available, donations will be matched dollar for dollar. Vie’s proprietary platform technology also enables automated corporate employee matching. To date, the PGA of America has already raised more than $5 million for GERF.

“On behalf of our 29,000 PGA professionals, and those individuals and families suffering physically and financially from COVID-19, we express our heartfelt thanks to Vie for powering the ‘Chip Shot Challenge,’ said Suzy Whaley, PGA of America President. Whaley was the first to chip, post and share a video challenging members of the world’s largest sports organization and their customers to participate.

Managed by E4E Relief, an independent third-party public charity, GERF provides grants to thousands of the most vulnerable golf industry workers, inclusive of golf association members, employees of local/state golf associations, caddies and professionals playing on developmental tours to help offset COVID-19 related financial hardships, such as living and medical expenses.

“We plan to launch Vie’s fully-functional, proprietary social competition and collaborative fundraising platform later this fall, which will allow ‘Viers’ worldwide to compete anywhere, anytime in their favorite sports, and donate to raise millions of dollars for their charities of choice,” added Schwartz. “In the interim, we hope to rally golf lovers around the world, support golf’s unsung heroes and demonstrate Vie’s commitment to our future customers and business partners in the golf industry.”

Cleveland Golf Introduces RTX ZipCore

(HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.) – Cleveland Golf is proud to announce their latest flagship wedge, the RTX ZipCore. Cleveland Golf’s RTX ZipCore will launch in North America on Aug. 14, 2020.

RTX ZipCore is both radically new and ultra-familiar. On the inside, its new core has unlocked design freedoms pushing the performance beyond any wedge in Cleveland Golf’s history. Yet on the outside, the sleek yet traditional design is familiar and inspires confidence at address.

"Cleveland wedges are always just beautiful looking clubs, and this one is no different,” said 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry. “They're very traditional and I just love them. You need to be able to trust what your wedges are going to do, and RTX ZipCore does everything I need it to do. I couldn't ask for anything else in a wedge."

The foundation of RTX ZipCore is a unique, low-density core that sits at the heart of the wedge. This ZipCore makes you better by shifting the center of gravity, while also boosting High-Low MOI for more stability high and low on the wedge face. The result is that ZipCore puts more impacts on the sweet spot for more consistent spin, distance and feel on every shot.

Furthermore, RTX ZipCore features Cleveland’s new UltiZip Grooves. Compared to previous generations, UltiZip Grooves are 11% sharper and 7.3% deeper, while also being 7.4% closer together for more groove contact area. The combination and optimization of these factors ensure that RTX ZipCore generates increased spin and consistent spin performance from any condition on the course.

To preserve the lifespan of our grooves, RTX ZipCore also features a new heat treatment to boost durability and maintain spin performance round after round.

“The new RTX ZipCore is a technological leap forward for Cleveland wedges,” said Jeff Brunski, Vice President of Research and Development. “We’ve inserted a low-density core inside the clubhead, allowing us to create a wedge with unprecedented consistency and exceptional feel. They also feature our tour-proven grinds and most aggressive groove technology to date – all packaged in a sleek yet traditional design.”

Key Innovations Inside RTX ZipCore:
- ZipCore: ZipCore shifts the center of gravity while raising MOI, adding spin, enhancing control, and boosting consistency on all your shots.
- UltiZip Grooves: These grooves are sharper and deeper, delivering maximum spin performance. They bite harder, channel more debris, and they’re closer together for more groove contact on every shot.
- Heat Treatment: A new heat treatment process increases ZipCore’s durability, delivering better performance over a longer period of time.
- Tour-Authentic Components: RTX ZipCore comes standard with the new True Temper Dynamic Gold Spinner Tour Issue shaft and the most popular grip in golf today with Golf Pride’s Tour Velvet 360.

RTX ZipCore wedges are offered in a wide variety of lofts and sole grinds. The MID Sole grind is offered in 46 through 60 degrees, the LOW Sole grind is offered in 56 through 62 degrees, and the FULL Sole grind is offered in 54 through 60 degrees. The RTX ZipCore is available in Tour Satin, with additional finishes coming later this year. Cleveland’s RTX ZipCore Tour Satin wedges are priced at $149.99 MAP.

Healthy Roster Helps PGA TOUR Relaunch with SAFER Play—An Automated COVID-19 Symptom Screening & Alerts Platform

(DUBLIN, OH) — Sports Medicine and Telehealth company Healthy Roster, announced the launch of SAFER Play for the PGA TOUR. In preparing to return to regular season competitive play, the PGA TOUR has partnered with Healthy Roster to ensure its players, caddies, and all staff at events are screened daily in order to make sure any symptomatic individual is identified and kept from coming to the course.

Healthy Roster’s SAFER Play provides a customizable screening and alerts platform that can be easily customized and quickly deployed to ensure that all participants are screened daily to reduce the chances of COVID-19 spread at events. Automated daily screenings are delivered via email and text-based messages to ensure everyone stops to consider symptoms each day during the event.  Any symptoms reported immediately trigger alerts to designated administrators and medical personnel for quick assessment via a telehealth interaction.  SAFER Play also integrates with various testing facilities and home-test providers to flag any individual in the days prior to PGA TOUR events.

“Travel and personal interaction are inherently part of life on the PGA TOUR, which becomes particularly complex in the era of COVID-19,” said Andy Levinson, PGA TOUR Senior Vice President, Tournament Administration.  “Healthy Roster customized our surveys, integrated with our network of COVID-19 testing facilities, and delivers automated daily screenings to all tournament participants.  This doesn’t guarantee that COVID-19 won’t be present, but it gives multiple layers of defense to provide the safest possible environment for our members and fans.”

Healthy Roster’s SAFER Play is built for athletic organizations, employers, and educational institutions that need the ability to screen, alert and communicate COVID-19 statuses daily.  The simple setup and rapid deployment of the platform prevent organizations from having to invent manual tracking systems which could take weeks to develop, train and deploy. Users can quickly upload athletes and staff, then immediately begin to send email or text-based surveys to check for COVID-19 symptoms daily.  The platform doesn’t require downloads or passwords which make it easy for a person to easily report how they feel, sending alerts to designated administrators when someone needs further assessment.

SAFER Play is a secure, automated set of proactive communication protocols that provides the ability to:
-Screen individuals for COVID-19 symptoms using simple text messages
-Alert personnel automatically when an individual indicates at-risk symptoms
-Facilitate immediate responses in line with established protocols
-Engage the employee quickly via chat and video to conduct assess and advise
-Reports identify trends and hotspots to prevent workplace spread
-Given the unprecedented nature of establishing pandemic return to work COVID-19 protocols, the -SAFER Play is easily updated and tailored to your organization as federal and state requirements continue to evolve.

CEO Nathan Heerdt states, “Our goal has always been to help keep people healthy and in the game. It’s never been more imperative for people to be aware of how they are feeling and the immediate impact their health has on everyone around them. With SAFER Play, we’re uniquely suited to help organizations work together to keep everyone healthy and decrease the chance of being exposed to COVID-19.”

New Golf Ball Outperforms All Brands in Distance and Dispersion

(FORT WORTH, Texas) – Recently, the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas hosted the Charles Schwab Challenge after a 92-day hiatus due to COVID-19. But Fort Worth isn’t just home to one of the nation’s premier golf courses – it is also home to Quantix Golf Inc., a company who has now created the highest-performance golf balls on the market and the first golf ball company in Fort Worth since Ben Hogan started his company in 1953.

Acclaimed golf ball designer Larry Cadorniga is best known for his work in creating the Titleist Tour Balata, as well as golf balls for Maxfli, Nike, and Top Golf. Cadorniga’s latest work is the F18 Tour and F35 Control as the Chief Engineer of Quantix Golf.

Ean Martin, Co-Founder, and Chief Executive Officer, said, “As a Direct-to-Consumer ball company, our goal with creating these golf balls has always been to give the player the greatest opportunity for success on the golf course … it all starts with the right golf ball.”

Quantix Golf announced that the leading independent laboratory, Golf Labratories Inc., recently tested the F18 Tour and F35 Control against current top industry offerings. The laboratory found that the F35 Control and F18 Tour had pinpoint accuracy and leading distance, with the F18 Tour taking the crown as the longest ball in golf. Both the F18 Tour and F35 Control are on the Conforming list for the USGA and R&A and approved for tournament play. (Test Results Included Below Under Related Files).

Golf Laboratories, Inc. has been an industry-standard in independent, unbiased golf equipment testing since 1990. In 1994, Parente designed and built the first Golf Laboratories robot. The robots have become the testing standard in golf, with 48 purchased worldwide by nearly all major equipment manufacturers, the USGA and R&A. Golf Laboratories has conducted testing for every major manufacturer in the golf industry.

The F18 Tour, which has taken the lead as the longest ball in golf, is comprised of a cast urethane cover with a three-piece ball design, giving players performance from tee to green. The F35 Control is also a three-piece golf ball with a propriety Ionomer Cover giving you distance and low spin off the tee for optimal forgiveness, paired with higher iron spin to give players the most control in iron play.

Steve Jurgensen, PGA Touring Professional, said, “One of the reasons I love the F18 Tour ball is because, for once, I don’t have to give up any aspect of golf ball performance in exchange for another … Distance, Feel, and Green Side Spin is all there with no sacrifices.”

John Ashworth Will Walk, Play 108 Golf Holes to Raise Awareness, Dunds for 'Feeding San Diego'

Ashworth’s golfing marathon will provide food assistance throughout the community of San Diego

(OCEANSIDE, Calif.) – John Ashworth, golf apparel innovator as well as Co-Founder and President of Linksoul, has pledged to walk and complete 108 golf holes at the Goat Hill Park Golf Course in Oceanside on Monday, June 29th. His quest is to raise money for the non-profit organization — Feeding San Diego. The leading hunger relief and food rescue establishment in San Diego.

Ashworth annually takes on the 108 golf hole challenge to raise money for the North County Junior Golf Association (NCJGA) Caddie and Leadership Academy but due to the pandemic their schedule was greatly reduced, so he sought out another non-profit that could benefit from his journey. San Diego has seen a 50% increase in hunger. One in eight people in San Diego County, including one in six children, face hunger. So, he decided to help his own community.

“I am attempting to raise $25,000 or enough money for 100,000 healthy meals. One dollar makes four healthy meals. Please join me and support this effort by donating an amount per hole. Possibly add incentives for birdies, eagles, and aces. Or if it is easier, a flat amount is appreciated, and no amount is too small,” said Ashworth.

Now, due to school and business closures, job losses, rising food costs, disruptions to the food supply and economic instability, food assistance is more important than ever.

GOLFNOW Helps Detroit's Boulder Pointe Welcome Back Golfers in Record Numbers

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – As golf across the northern U.S. rebounds and golf clubs throughout Michigan begin to welcome back golfers in record numbers with the help of GOLFNOW pre-paid technology, Boulder Pointe Golf Club stands as a leader in metro Detroit, enjoying a record 190 percent, year-over-year increase in online rounds sold year to date.

During this time, Boulder Pointe also has seen its online revenue more than double year over year, making it the online rounds leader among golf clubs in the entire Detroit market.

A long-time GOLFNOW partner, Boulder Pointe first began posting rounds inside GOLFNOW’s industry-leading tee-time marketplace in 2013 and has incorporated additional technologies and services over the subsequent years. The golf club also utilizes GOLFNOW Reservations point-of-sale and booking engine technology, Premium Marketing Program, Answers telephone service, as well as professional guidance with inventory and revenue management through the GOLFNOW Plus service.

In order to adhere to safety protocols issued by the state of Michigan in April due to COVID-19, Boulder Pointe also began utilizing GOLFNOW’s pre-paid technology, which allows golfers to book tee times and pay online in advance.

“We have had a great working relationship with the GOLFNOW team for several years – they listen to our needs and respond quickly to accommodate,” said Rich Morgan, PGA, Director of Golf and Head Professional at Boulder Pointe Golf Club. “From our Orlando contacts to the local and regional management team, all of our needs are exceeded. We were able to completely shift our tee sheet to 100 percent pre-paid in a matter of two days, which allowed us to continue to expand our golf revenue while maintaining lower staffing levels.”

Morgan also points to the recent Memorial Day weekend as an example of the power of pre-paid. Rounds sold online represented 67 percent of the total revenue generated by Boulder Pointe over the holiday weekend, compared to 29 percent in 2019.

(Worley, Idaho) – Despite the pandemic and an unprecedented business environment, Circling Raven Golf Club – the No. 1-rated public course in Idaho and amenity of Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel – has exceeded year-to date (YTD) performance in multiple categories.

Year-to-Date Greens Fee revenue is up by 40%, Total Rounds have increased by 37%, Golf Merchandise Retail Sales are up by 4%, and Total Revenue has soared by 27% compared to 2019.

“This is a win-win for the golf club and our players,” said David Christenson, PGA, Circling Raven Director of Golf. “We wanted to do the right thing for people, but we also have fiscal responsibilities. We are grateful that our guests judge us to be a safe, fun haven at an exceptional value. We are encouraged with the number of new players at the course this season and the repeat rounds that they are playing with us.”

In addition to pure golf, Circling Raven – created by golf course architect Gene Bates – offers a robust schedule of programming activities. Designed for all level and type of player – men, women, couples, children and seniors – the special events are proving popular and well-attended. Circling Raven Stay-and-Play Packages begin at $249 and include one night’s stay, double occupancy, and two rounds each at Circling Raven. Poconos Family Resort Reopens Debuting its New “Resort Responsibly” Program

Now fully reopened under Pennsylvania’s “Green Phase,” Woodloch Pines has implemented an extensive set of protocols to ensure the safety of its staff, guests, and the local community.

(Hawley, PA) – The toll that the Covid-19 pandemic has taken in recent months has flipped the hospitality industry on its head, requiring properties across the world to change immensely and adapt rapidly to a tremendous amount of new operating procedures. One such property, Woodloch Pines, an all-inclusive family resort in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, has embraced these challenges with open arms and made “Resort Responsibly” its new mantra.

The safety of its staff, guests, and the local community has always been of paramount importance to Woodloch. The “Resort Responsibly” program has taken this commitment to the next level, detailing protocols for every department in order to ensure strictest sanitization property-wide and adhere to social distancing guidelines. While operation may look a bit different in the midst of this new normal, the Woodloch experience continues to remain true to its tagline, “Together is the best place to be.”

After remaining closed for over two months, the Poconos resort first reopened on June 5th following the guidance of the State of Pennsylvania’s “Yellow Phase.” On June 19th, it moves into the “Green Phase” of reopening, allowing all activities as well in-restaurant dining to resume. The “Resort Responsibly” program addresses six key areas of operation, which are outlined below:

Reciprocal Promises
Woodloch promises to protect the safety of all parties and asks guests to follow suit. This entails taking necessary precautions to ensure social distancing measures, proper hand hygiene, and the use of masks.

The Woodloch Wellness Standard & Housekeeping
Exceeding the recommended guidance set by the state of Pennsylvania and CDC, the Poconos resort has created a full-time Safety Department to oversee guest and staff safety. Their primary focus will be infection control and prevention.
Public areas and frequent touchpoints will be vigorously sanitized with hospital-grade cleaners.
Woodloch will implement practices in accordance with the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Safe Stay program, the hospitality industry’s gold standard in cleaning.
Housekeeping Safety Inspectors will certify and seal rooms as clean.
The resort has invested in technology to minimize the necessary amount of contact between guests and staff.

Activities, amenities and entertainment
The family resort’s 1,500-acre property features nature trails for hiking and biking as well as an expansive lake for swimming and a variety of boating activities.
Amenities include: indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, go-carts, archery, paintball, shuffleboard, trap shoot, mini golf, escape rooms, horseshoes, bocce, and a brand-new playground.
Activities featured include: game show contests, athletic competitions, trivia contests, scavenger hunts and hallmark guest favorites such as Cupcake Wars, a baking competition where creativity reigns supreme.
Guests can enjoy both indoor and outdoor entertainment such as movie nights, variety acts, comedians, and live music. Multiple seating times will be available for indoor acts to ensure adherence to social distancing measures.
Golf is also available at neighboring Woodloch Springs, a championship 18-hole golf course.
A la carte spa treatments at the family resort’s sister property, The Lodge at Woodloch, are available on a limited basis.

Dining Experience
Indoor and outdoor dining is now available.
Indoor tables will be spaced appropriately and additional seating times may be available to ensure proper social distancing.
Take-out dining will be available during set hours for both breakfast and dinner.

Check-in and Check-out
Upon arrival and prior to entering, each guest’s temperature will be taken curbside. One person from each party will be allowed to enter the main office for check-in.
Check-out can be completed over the phone, and receipts can be emailed.
There will be no daily housekeeping, but guests have the option to receive contact-free delivery of room amenities, linens, and sundries.

Staff Policies and Procedures
Approved PPE will be given to all staff members, and they will be required to wear masks while on property, both indoors and out.
Temperatures will be taken upon arrival to work each shift.
Contact tracing measures have been implemented in the unlikely event of exposure for our staff and our guests’ protection.
The resort’s Safety Department will hold weekly meetings, educating employees about symptom recognition, cleaning and sanitizing procedures, proper hand and personal hygiene as well as protocol guidance.
All food and beverage employees will follow Serv-Safe guidelines.

“Maintaining the health and safety of our guests and staff is of the utmost importance to us, and we are committed to going above and beyond to protect them during these unprecedented times. Since we first opened in 1958, the core elements of the Woodloch experience have always been about togetherness and fun. Although we have had to make some adjustments, we are elated to have reopened. We remain more dedicated than ever to delivering our signature brand of excellence and warm hospitality,” said Brad Kiesendahl, C.E.O of Woodloch Pines.

Fourth USAGA International Para-Golf Championship to be Contested at Bear Creek Golf Club in Dallas

Arcis Golf to Welcome Competitive Golfers, October 20-22

(Burr Ridge, Ill.) - The United States Adaptive Golf Alliance (USAGA), comprised of 38 national adaptive golf organizations, will hold the USAGA International Para-Golf Championship at Bear Creek Golf Club, an Arcis Golf property, in Dallas, Texas, October 20-22, 2020.

The USAGA International Para-Golf Championship includes golfers with various physical and sensory challenges (para-golfers) from around the world and is played in accordance with world ranking (WR4GD) standards, the United States Adaptive Golf Ranking system (USAGR), and the IPC Protocol. This is the fourth time the USAGA has hosted and organized this International Championship. Last year’s International Championship was held at Arcis Golf’s Desert Pines Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Chad Pfeifer, retired United States Army infantry paratrooper, is the overall men’s defending champion and also won the first USAGA International Para-Golf Championship in 2016.  Pfeifer lost his left leg during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007. The overall women’s defending champion is Patti Valero and the overall seniors defending champion is Vic McClelland. For a list of individual winners in each category, click here: https://tinyurl.com/y9xkgdx6.

“The USAGA’s long-term objective of inclusion comes to the forefront at this event,” says USAGA Chairman E.Q. Sylvester. “The International Para-Golf Championship is all-inclusive and reflects the broad spectrum of all disabled players. The USAGA brings joy and a sense of freedom to 40,000 golfers with disabilities annually and approximately 26% are combat wounded veterans.”

The event has been approved by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and EDGA (formerly the European Disabled Golf Association) as a Counting Event for the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD), where para-golfers can earn points toward the world rankings.

Bear Creek Golf Club, located in the Dallas Fort Worth metro area, features two 18-hole Ted Robinson layouts and is known as one of the area’s premier golf venues for championship events. Golf Digest recognized it as one of the "Top 50 Resort Courses in America" and the Wall Street Journal as one of the "10 Great Places To Play Golf.” Its event amenities, including two expansive event pavilions accommodating groups of up to 1,200 guests - prompted Avid Golfer to name it the "Best Place To Host A Corporate Event."

“Our relationship with the United States Adaptable Golf Alliance allows us to bring more people into the game of golf or bring the game to them,” said Blake Walker, Founder and CEO of Dallas-based Arcis Golf.  “Hosting this national championship in our hometown and welcoming these skilled competitors is an honor for our company.”

The United States Adaptive Golf Ranking (USAGR) standards were a product of years of data analyses and conversations with the long-time stakeholders of the American disabled-golf industry.  The standards classify para-golfers into 14 different sport classes, provide yardage allowances for sport classes (much like the game already provides for age and gender) and provide competitive pathways to the highest levels through multiple events run by its member organizations. The season culminates with the USAGA Para-Golf International, where a USA Para-Golf team is announced, comprised of the top-two ranked para-golfers from each sport class. Special awards are also given to the top-ranked male and female golfers for the season, as well as top performers for the week.

Pebble Beach Company, Tiger Woods release plans for reimagined short course facility at Pebble Beach

New facility will include a nine-hole par-3 short course, a putting course, and an indoor/outdoor food and beverage venue overlooking one of the resort’s most stunning views

(PEBBLE BEACH, CALIF.) – Pebble Beach Company and Tiger Woods, through his TGR Design firm, today released plans to transform the former site of Peter Hay Golf Course. Located directly between the Pebble Beach Pro Shop and Golf Academy, the new facility will include:
· A short course comprised of nine par-3 holes ranging in length from 47 to 106 yards and measuring 670 yards in total;
· A 20,000-square-foot putting course that can be set up in a variety of different hole and routing combinations; and
· A 5,000-square-foot food and beverage venue featuring a full kitchen and bar, indoor seating, and the resort’s largest outdoor patio positioned for expansive views of the short course, putting course, Carmel Bay, and Point Lobos

“We are thrilled to elevate the quality of our short course to a level consistent with our other world-class golf courses,” said Bill Perocchi, Chief Executive Officer of Pebble Beach Company. “You can see the genius of Tiger Woods and TGR Design come to life when you walk the site, the way it all fits together. I expect all aspects of this new facility will be very popular for junior golf events, Resort golfers, outings, resident hang-outs, and everything in between.”

Woods’ design philosophy for the short course is anchored on playability and creativity. His vision is that the course will draw new players to the game, bring families together, and provide a fun golf experience for players of all ages and abilities, while still offering a challenge for skilled players.

“Everyone who plays this golf course is going to enjoy the playability of it,” said Woods. “Golfers will have the choice to play nearly any club off most tees and around the greens, which will make them think and channel their creativity. It will also play differently from day to day depending on the tee and hole locations and wind direction. It’s going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to play it.”

In shaping the new course, Woods’ inspiration resulted in dramatic terrain movement and nine holes entirely distinct from the old course. He also reoriented the routing to better capture the views, with four holes now playing directly toward Carmel Bay.

In addition, Woods aligned each hole’s yardage to correspond with a significant year in Pebble Beach history, with accompanying plaques on each tee telling a story and creating the sense guests are walking amongst the Resort’s rich championship heritage as they play. The only exception is the course’s second hole, which will be an exact replica of the famous seventh hole at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

“Pebble Beach is such an iconic golf destination, we want guests to feel the entirety of that spirit when they play this course. We also know not everyone who comes to Pebble Beach will have a chance to play the U.S. Open course, so we wanted to create the opportunity for all visitors to experience one of its most famous holes,” Woods added.

The Grand Opening of the entire facility is currently scheduled for the Spring of 2021.

Rory McIlroy Coach Michael Bannon Hosts His First Video Instruction Series, Helping Youth Navigate the Game of Golf through Simplicity and Fun

Produced for Kids and Parents, Breaking into the Game: Juniors Features Appearances by World No. 1 McIlroy

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – With many of the same techniques that helped a young Rory McIlroy learn, excel and develop a passion for golf, instructor Michael Bannon will help youngsters learn and improve at golf in a new digital video series, Breaking into the Game: Juniors with Michael Bannon, premiering today, exclusively on GOLFPASS.

As McIlroy’s lifelong coach, Bannon has seen many of the same philosophies and techniques he shares in the series help turn his prize student in the mid-‘90s into the world’s top-ranked professional golfer today. Breaking into the Game: Juniors will be presented in nine parts and will provide up-and-coming junior golfers with the necessary, easy-to-understand tools required to play the game, while keeping a close eye on having fun.

“I’m very aware of the great responsibility that I have when teaching juniors, because they’re just starting out in life,” Bannon said. “When teaching in this series, I made it a priority that we don’t get overly complicated, to present lessons in a language and style that connects with kids’ interests, and also to make it simple and fun.”

Bannon notes that fun is a key that keep kids coming back to golf, a point well-emphasized in the series, especially to parents who oftentimes accompany their kids to the golf course. “When you can set them up to have some success early on, that’s when the game becomes fun and they’ll want to play more,” Bannon said.

Each episode of Breaking into the Game: Juniors focuses on specific skill sets for juniors, like ball striking, swing mechanics, club selection, swing speed and more. McIlroy also makes several appearances in the series, offering tips and advice to aspiring golfers and recounting some of the lessons he learned from Bannon that still resonate for him today.

“Juniors that are trying to emulate what I have done, I would say to them, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do it. Michael taught me that,” McIlroy said. “His style and caring demeanor really resonate with younger people.”
