120-year-old club now open for public play
KemperSports will oversee all golf and club operations with a focus on enhancing the member and guest experience at the historic club.
Established in 1894 as a private club, the golf course in its current setting was constructed in 1958 by A.G. McKay and redesigned in 1999, by the Mark McCumber design group. The Club is located 110 miles northeast of Knoxville, Tenn., along the Virginia border.
In addition to golf, the family-friendly club includes both indoor and outdoor tennis courts, outdoor sand volleyball court and basketball/multipurpose court. The Family Fitness Center, which opened in 2008, includes cardio, fitness and cross training equipment as well as an aerobics exercise room. The Clubs’ junior Olympic-sized pool offers a heated zero edge pool with water slide and lazy river.
“As Country Club of Bristol prepares to celebrate its’ 120th anniversary, we are excited to be working with them to take the property to the next level,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner.
