(HARRIS, MICHIGAN) - Sweetgrass Golf Club (www.sweetgrassgolfclub.com) will open it s 2012 season with a recent accolade: it has been named to Golfweek's 2012 Best Courses list.
The official ranking was released in the leading golf magazine's print edition last Friday. More than 400 of "America's Best" raters review thousands of courses annually on a ten-point system, noting features such as course routing, natural setting, and conditioning. Sweetgrass took 14th place honors in the Best State-by-State list.
"With over 1,000 courses in Michigan alone, we're honored that Sweetgrass would be named to this prestigious list among our peers," says Tom McChesney, CEO of Island Resort & Casino, which operates the course.
Sweetgrass will officially open its golf season in April, with value-based green fees starting at $75 and overnight golf packages starting at $95 midweek. Its most popular golf package, the Perfect Foursome, includes a two-night stay and rounds at Sweetgrass, TimberStone and Greywalls courses - all ranked in Golfweek's Top 15 in Michigan.
