Prince’s Golf Club Announces “The Laddie” – An 18-hole Championship Composite Course

(Sandwich Bay, Kent) – Prince’s Golf Club, host of the 1932 Open Championship and 2030 Walker Cup, has announced a new 18-hole championship composite course, The Laddie, created in collaboration with The R&A and architects Mackenzie & Ebert. The layout brings together the best holes from the existing nines – The Himalayas, Shore and Dunes.

Prince’s will allow golfers to experience the new routing - encompassing a selection of the best aspects of all three nines - at select times in the year. It will serve as the layout for select future championships hosted by Prince’s.

Named “The Laddie,” the championship course pays tribute to P B “Laddie” Lucas, one of Prince’s most celebrated figures and a man whose life and legacy are deeply entwined with the club.

Born at Prince’s and raised on the Kent links, Lucas went on to become a distinguished amateur golfer and RAF pilot. During World War II, after sustaining heavy damage to his Spitfire, he navigated back to Prince’s Golf Club using his knowledge of the coastline and course, landing safely on the links - a remarkable moment that cemented his place in the club’s history.

The layout draws from all three of Prince’s renowned nine-hole loops, featuring five holes from The Himalayas, six from The Shore and seven from The Dunes. The routing is further defined by a series of challenging par 4s that demand precision from the tee and strategic approach play, adding to the course’s championship test.

“The goal of ‘The Laddie’ is to create a home for championship golf at Prince’s while maintaining the essence of the whole property,” says Rob McGuirk, general manager of Prince’s Golf Club. “We believe we created something very special here and this specific routing will not only look to be among the best in the United Kingdom, but across the world.”

The composite course follows investment to restored natural sandscrapes, extended fairways and surrounds, and refined rough management, delivering firmer, faster links conditions while honouring Prince’s pre-war heritage which resulted in the club receiving England’s “Golf Course of the Year” award in 2025.

Off the course, Prince’s investment has spanned the entire facility. Most recently, the club completed an extensive clubhouse refurbishment, elevating the arrival and hospitality experience for members and guests.

Enhancements across the venue also include Toptracer technology on the driving range, an Odyssey putting studio, and the upcoming revitalization of the club’s on-site accommodation, The Lodge at Prince’s, which provides 38 en-suite bedrooms and premium stay-and-play offerings.

“We believe the creation of ‘The Laddie’ is another crucial step towards Prince’s reaching its true potential as a golf destination,” continues McGuirk. “Over the past decade, we have transformed our facility into a well-rounded escape for golf aficionados and travellers alike.”

Prince’s Golf Club is consistently recognized across all major Top 100 rankings in Great Britain and Ireland and continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the finest links venues in England.

Wild Wing’s Avocet Course Closes to Undergo Major Restoration Project

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.)
– Wild Wing’s Avocet Course closed on May 18 for a four-month restoration project designed to return the acclaimed Jeff Brauer-Larry Nelson layout to the top of the Myrtle Beach market.

The centerpiece of the project will be the restoration of Avocet’s greens and the overhaul of every bunker on the course. Avocet is expected to reopen in late-September, just in time for Myrtle Beach’s peak fall season.

Founders Group International, Myrtle Beach’s largest golf course ownership group and Avocet’s parent company, has contracted with Brauer to oversee the project.

“This is about restoring Avocet to where it belongs,” said Wild Wing general manager Mark Andrews. “The golf course has always had great bones, and we want to bring back the features and playing characteristics that made people fall in love with it in the first place.”

Over the years, Avocet’s greens gradually shrank in size, eliminating many of the original pin placements and design features envisioned by Brauer and Nelson.

“You’re going to see pin locations that haven’t been available for years,” Andrews said. “There will be flags in places golfers didn’t even know existed.”

The greens will be rebuilt from the ground up using a new root-zone mix and TifEagle bermudagrass, providing improved consistency and conditioning throughout the property.

In addition to the greens work, every bunker on the course will be reshaped and renovated. While bunker square footage will be strategically reduced to improve playability and maintenance efficiency, the overall character of the design will remain intact.

The updated bunkering will create cleaner visuals, more defined shot values, and a more enjoyable experience for mid- to high-handicap players. All bunkers will also receive concrete capillary liners to ensure improved drainage and consistent playing conditions.

Among the most notable architectural restorations will be the return of the “Valley of Sin” on the ninth hole, a collection area left of the green that disappeared over time.

“It’s something most people don’t even realize used to be here,” Andrews said. “But it’s coming back, and it’s going to add a really cool element to the hole.”

The renovation will also include the addition of forward tee boxes on 16 holes, making the course more accessible and enjoyable for a wider range of golfers.

Beyond the golf course, Wild Wing’s clubhouse experience will also receive significant upgrades. The pro shop will be redesigned with a more upscale-casual atmosphere, while the grill area will transition into a sports bar-style venue featuring an updated menu and golf simulators to create a year-round entertainment destination.

“Everything is getting attention this summer,” Andrews said. “From the moment you arrive, it’s going to feel like a completely new experience.”

The renovation of Avocet further highlights Founders Group International’s commitment to providing the best golf vacation experience possible. FGI has undertaken numerous renovation projects in recent years, including work at King’s North at Myrtle Beach National, Pawleys Plantation, Grande Dunes, and Pine Lakes.

With a dozen renovation projects completed and more planned, FGI continues to raise the bar for golf in Myrtle Beach, cementing its place as the region’s premier golf course operator.

Scheffler Returns to Defend at Revamped TPC Craig Ranch

After one of the most entertaining major championships in recent memory, the PGA Tour heads from the intensity of the PGA Championship to the familiar Texas swing for this week’s CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

The event returns to TPC Craig Ranch for the sixth time, but this year’s tournament arrives with a dramatically different look. Following Scottie Scheffler’s dominant eight-shot victory in 2025, the course underwent a $25 million renovation — the first significant redesign since the venue opened in 2004.

Scheffler’s performance last year was historic in more ways than one. His eight-shot margin marked the second-largest victory in tournament history, trailing only Sam Snead’s 10-shot win in 1957. The world No. 1 also tied the lowest 72-hole score in PGA Tour history with a blistering 253, matching marks set by Ludvig Åberg at the 2023 RSM Classic and Justin Thomas at the 2017 Sony Open in Hawaii.

Now Scheffler returns to defend his title on a course that should look and play significantly different from the one he dismantled a year ago.

The Byron Nelson remains one of the Tour’s most historic stops. It was the first PGA Tour event named after a professional golfer, honoring legendary Texan Byron Nelson, whose résumé includes 52 PGA Tour victories and a record-setting 18-win season in 1945, including 11 consecutive titles.

While Scheffler enters as the clear headliner, recent tournament history suggests international players have thrived at Craig Ranch. Five of the last six champions have come from outside the United States, including Sung Kang, K.H. Lee, Jason Day and Taylor Pendrith.

One of the more intriguing storylines this week belongs to Texas native Pierceson Coody, who will make his fifth career start at the event. The 26-year-old has quietly pieced together a strong season with seven top-25 finishes in 14 starts, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Golf history runs deep in the Coody family. His grandfather, Charles Coody, won three PGA Tour titles, including the 1971 Masters and the 1964 Byron Nelson.

This year’s field includes two of the top 25 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, led by Scheffler and Si Woo Kim. The tournament also features five former Byron Nelson champions: Billy Horschel, Aaron Wise, K.H. Lee, Pendrith and Scheffler.

Five major champions are also in the field, including five-time major winner Brooks Koepka, giving the event added star power just days removed from the season’s second major.

After the drama and pressure of the PGA Championship, the Byron Nelson offers a different kind of challenge: a renovated course, a historically low-scoring setup, and a field eager to chase down the game’s top-ranked player in his home state.

Cleveland Golf Leans Into Heritage with “The Short Game Authority” Campaign

(HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.)
– With the launch of its new global campaign, “The Short Game Authority,” Cleveland Golf is staking its claim on the most critical part of the game: performance inside 130 yards. The campaign reinforces the brand's long-standing leadership in the short game, where precision replaces power, and scores are ultimately decided.

Built around a cinematic brand anthem, “The Short Game Authority” positions Cleveland Golf squarely within golf’s most exacting space. The campaign explores the quiet, controlled side of the game, where feel, creativity, and confidence dictate outcomes. Through calm, authoritative narration delivered by Cleveland Golf’s Tour Staff, the brand claims ownership of the 130-yard range and elevates the importance of performance where it matters most.

This campaign pulls back the curtain on how Cleveland Golf continues to set the standard, powered by the athletes, insights, and innovation that have defined the brand for decades. Through relentless collaboration from our team, we’re able to understand the smallest details that shape performance and translate that into precision and consistency for every golfer. James Fodera, Cleveland Golf Creative Director

At the center of the campaign is Cleveland Golf’s Tour roster, whose insights and experiences help shape both the storytelling and technology behind the products. Throughout the creative, viewers will be guided through a sensory-driven environment designed to capture every nuance of the short game, from the sound of impact to turf interaction, spin characteristics, and bunker feedback. This data-driven approach reflects how Cleveland Golf collaborates with its Tour players to refine performance in real conditions.

The campaign unfolds in a controlled, near-futuristic setting – part golf course, part research facility, featuring greens that are lit like soundstages, cameras that line trees, and sensors that sit beneath the turf. The environment visually represents Cleveland Golf’s commitment to studying every variable inside 130 yards. From pitch shots to bunker play, the brand highlights its relentless pursuit of understanding how golfers score and translating those results into wedge and putter innovation.

“The Short Game Authority” also signals Cleveland Golf’s strategic decision to focus exclusively on wedges and putters, allowing the brand to further invest in the categories where it has historiclaly found great success. By narrowing its focus, the brand can deliver more specialized research, player insights, and elevate its presence for both professionals and everyday golfers.

We’re diving deeper into what we do best, and that’s giving golfers the tools, technology, and confidence to master their craft. This is a celebration of everything this brand has built over 45 years, and a bold commitment to keep leading where it matters most. James Fodera, Cleveland Golf Creative Director

Vietnam Golf Coast Turns Up the Heat This Summer

Central Vietnam clubs pair seasonal promotions with fireworks, coastal breezes, and night golf

(DANANG, Vietnam) — Vietnam Golf Coast clubs are bringing the heat to Central Vietnam this summer, with a host of seasonal promotions, stay-and-play offers, and off-course attractions giving golfers added reasons to tee it up in one of Asia’s most compelling golf destinations.

At Montgomerie Links, summer means bright skies, firm fairways, and cooling coastal breezes sweeping in from the East Sea. The course’s rolling terrain, casuarina pines, and proximity to Danang’s beaches give it a classic seaside character, while a new stay offer adds further incentive for golfers planning a longer escape.

Guests can currently take advantage of a “Stay 1 night, get 1 complimentary night” promotion, with additional food and beverage credit enhancing the overall golf getaway experience.

“Summer is a particularly rewarding time to experience Montgomerie Links,” said Club Manager Le Vo Hoang Van. “The sunshine, sea breezes, and relaxed coastal atmosphere combine to create the kind of golf holiday that feels distinctly Central Vietnamese.”

The timing also coincides with one of Danang’s biggest annual draws. The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival 2026 runs from May 30 to July 11 under the theme “Da Nang – United Horizons.” The six-week event will bring 10 teams from nine countries to the Han River, with displays staged across five qualifying nights and a grand finale, alongside street performances, music, dancing, and riverfront festivities across the city.

In the highlands west of Danang, Ba Na Hills Golf Club is carrying strong momentum into summer following its 10th anniversary celebrations. A special tournament on May 9 brought golfers, partners, and supporters together to mark a decade of growth for one of Vietnam’s most distinctive golf venues with its spectacular Luke Donald-designed layout.

Set among pine forests and mountain air, Ba Na Hills Golf Club offers a cooler counterpoint to the coast. Its summer promotions lean into that advantage, with Twi-night Tee Off allowing golfers to start in the afternoon and play into the evening under lights. Prices start from VND 2,250,000 ($90), with tee times available on selected weekdays.

The club is also offering a same-day second-round promotion from VND1,290,000 ($52), designed for golfers who want to extend their play while avoiding the hottest parts of the day. Young Talent Moments encourages junior participation on weekdays, while Sunday Swing combines an afternoon round with a food and beverage coupon for use in the clubhouse.

For players seeking an added refreshment boost, Ba Na Hills has also introduced a Cooling Kit, priced at VND179,000 ($7), featuring frozen mineral water, a chilled towel, and ice cream.

“Summer golf is about timing, comfort, and atmosphere,” said Andrew McGregor, General Manager at Ba Na Hills Golf Club. “With mountain conditions, night golf, and offers for families and returning players, we are giving golfers more ways to enjoy the season.”

Beyond the fairways, Central Vietnam continues to strengthen its appeal as a complete golf destination. Danang’s beaches, expanding dining scene, Hoi An’s UNESCO-listed ancient town, and major seasonal events such as DIFF all give golfers reasons to extend their stay.

“With coastal play, mountain golf, strong-value promotions, and a packed summer events calendar, Vietnam Golf Coast is positioning the season as one of the most rewarding times of year to visit,” added Le Vo Hoang Van.

Aaron Rai’s Brilliant Back-Nine Charge Put a Fitting Finish on a Wild PGA Championship

The 2026 PGA Championship had everything: star collapses, impossible pin locations, angry exchanges with fans, LIV-vs.-PGA tension, and a Sunday leaderboard that looked ready to turn into total chaos. And then, through all of it, Aaron Rai delivered the kind of closing stretch that instantly becomes part of major championship history.

Rai’s final-round 65 at Aronimink wasn’t just enough to win his first major championship. It was historic.

Over his final 10 holes, Rai played them in 6-under par, becoming just the third player in modern major championship history to finish that strongly and still win the tournament. The other two names on that list tell you everything you need to know about the company he joined: Cameron Smith at the 2022 Open Championship and Jack Nicklaus during his legendary 1986 Masters victory.

That closing stretch transformed what had been a tense, crowded Sunday into a coronation.

Rai entered the final round chasing, not leading. But while bigger names stumbled around Aronimink’s punishing setup, he got steadier as the pressure mounted. His tournament scores — 70, 69, 67, 65 — made him the first player in PGA Championship history to improve his score in every single round en route to victory.

That almost never happens in major championships because majors are designed to break players down physically and mentally as the week progresses. Instead, Rai got sharper.

The victory also carried broader historical significance for European golf. Rai became the first player representing England to win the PGA Championship since Jim Barnes captured the first two editions of the event in 1916 and 1919. And in the modern era of the four current majors, this is the first season in which Europeans have captured both of the first two majors of the year.

The week, though, will also be remembered for how brutally Aronimink tested the world’s best players.

Players spent much of the championship openly complaining about course setup, particularly the hole locations. Scottie Scheffler called one Friday pin placement among the hardest he had ever seen. Rory McIlroy unraveled late Thursday, then boiled over Sunday during a heated interaction with a fan after a “U-S-A!” chant from the crowd.

And still, amid all the carnage, somebody nearly stole the championship outright.

Kurt Kitayama fired a stunning final-round 63, tying the major championship record for the lowest final round ever recorded. He became just the second player to shoot 63 in the final round of a PGA Championship, joining Brad Faxon in 1995.

For a few hours Sunday afternoon, Kitayama’s charge looked like it might become one of the great major comebacks ever. Instead, it became the final obstacle Rai calmly stepped over on his way to the Wanamaker Trophy.

That’s ultimately what made this PGA Championship memorable.

It wasn’t dominance from start to finish. It wasn’t survival golf. It was escalation. Every hour brought more tension, more volatility, and more opportunities for the tournament to spin sideways.

And when the dust settled, the player standing tallest was the one who improved every single day and played his best golf when the pressure was greatest.

Aaron Rai didn’t just win the PGA Championship.

He closed it like a major champion.

Trump-Backed East Potomac Renovation Plan Revealed, Sparking Fresh Debate Over D.C. Muni’s Future

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum on Thursday unveiled a new rendering for the future of East Potomac Golf Links, offering the clearest look yet at the controversial overhaul of the historic municipal golf facility.

The proposed redesign, created by renowned golf architect Tom Fazio, features a par-72 championship course stretching 7,660 yards across the manmade peninsula in southwest Washington, D.C. The plan also includes three new water features, a large practice complex and what appears to be a nine-hole short course north of the main layout. A sizeable section at the southern end of the peninsula would remain dedicated green space rather than golf development.

Additional details about the project have not yet been released by either Burgum’s office or Fazio.

The future of East Potomac has become one of the most debated golf projects in the country. The century-old muni currently offers affordable public golf, with greens fees hovering around $40, but critics worry the proposed transformation could dramatically change both the character and accessibility of the property.

The controversy intensified after the Trump administration terminated the lease of the National Links Trust in December. The nonprofit previously held long-term leases for East Potomac along with D.C.’s other municipal courses, Langston Golf Course and Rock Creek Golf Course, with plans to restore all three facilities.

Federal officials cited missed payments and delayed improvements as reasons for ending the agreement, though the NLT disputed those claims and said it strongly disagreed with the administration’s characterization of the situation.

Just last week, however, the administration shifted course again, announcing that the National Park Service would partner with both private and public groups — including the NLT — to begin immediate renovations at East Potomac while returning oversight of Langston and Rock Creek back to the nonprofit.

Officials say the goal is to create a nationally recognized public golf destination while maintaining affordable access for local players. Burgum compared the vision for East Potomac to celebrated municipal venues like Bethpage Black Course and Torrey Pines Golf Course, promising “championship-quality golf” at discounted local rates.

Still, many local golfers and preservation advocates remain unconvinced.

Advocacy group Save East Po criticized the proposal Thursday, arguing the community was excluded from the planning process. The organization also objected to reducing the facility from 36 holes to 27 and questioned whether the redesign adequately honors the original architecture of legendary designer Walter Travis.

Fazio’s proposed routing bears little resemblance to the historic layout that has existed at East Potomac for more than a century.

Despite the backlash, the NLT praised the administration’s pledge to keep the facility affordable, pointing to successful public golf models like Memorial Park Golf Course and Bethpage State Park as examples of high-quality municipal golf that remains accessible to local communities.

Donald Trump has said little publicly about the redevelopment plans, though he told The Wall Street Journal in December that if his administration moved forward with the courses, “we’ll do it really beautifully.”

Colonial Country Club Unveils Newly Renovated and Expanded Amenities

(Fort Myers, Fla.)
– Colonial Country Club has completed a comprehensive, multi-million-dollar renovation of its amenities, including the golf shop, cart barn, pool area, and community center. This project follows the recent $9 million golf course renovation, further elevating the member experience at the club.

The golf shop underwent a complete remodel, focusing on offering quality apparel and goods at member-friendly prices. The cart barn was rebuilt and expanded, reopening with a new, upgraded fleet of carts; a new storage mezzanine with double the bag storage capacity; a club fitting room; additional merchandise storage and a staff break room. The wellness center now features additional meeting spaces, a revamped selection of athletic wear, new gym equipment, an enhanced sound system, acoustic paneling in fitness areas, complimentary daily coffee and fruit stations, and digital signage. The pool deck has been remodeled to include weekend DJ entertainment, chef-attended grills, and drink specials.

These enhancements have significantly contributed to the club’s vibrant atmosphere, leading to the largest revenue month in Colonial’s food and beverage history this past March.

“Over the last several years, Colonial has remained focused on making thoughtful investments that enhance the overall member experience while also positioning the club strongly for the future,” said Colonial Country Club Board President Dan Casciano. “We committed ourselves to doing these projects the right way the first time. Through strong planning, teamwork, and oversight, these projects were completed on schedule, under budget, and without sacrificing quality. We are extremely proud of the outcome and appreciative of everyone who played a role in bringing this vision to life.”

“We wanted every enhancement to feel intentional and member focused. What makes me most proud is not just the physical transformation, but the people behind it,” said Colonial Country Club General Manager and COO Robert D. Podley CCM, CCE, CAM. “Our team remained incredibly committed throughout the process, continuing to deliver exceptional hospitality and service while operating through construction and change. Their passion, adaptability, and dedication to our members are what truly brought these enhancements to life.”

Earlier this year, golf course architect Gordon Lewis led course renovation work that focused on improving playability, aesthetics, and sustainability of the 24-year-old course.

Colonial Country Club is recognized as a Distinguished Club by BoardRoom Magazine;  one of the Top Four Most Sustainable Clubs in the U.S. by Vivid Leaf; one of ‘America’s Healthiest Clubs’ by Prevo Health Solutions; a Top 100 Golf Shop by the AGM Platinum Awards; achieved Top-Ranked status in culinary and racquet operations from Club and Resort Business Magazine. What Are the Worst Golf Courses in Minnesota?

Hiawatha

Minnesota is often celebrated as one of America’s hidden golf gems, home to pristine public layouts, lush fairways, and legendary destinations like Hazeltine National Golf Club and Rush Creek Golf Club. But not every course in the Land of 10,000 Lakes lives up to the hype.

Dig through enough online reviews, golfer forums, and travel sites, and a few names repeatedly surface for all the wrong reasons: poor conditions, frustrating management, and layouts players describe as “unplayable.” Here are the three Minnesota golf courses that have earned some of the harshest criticism from golfers.

1. Hiawatha Golf Course — Minneapolis

If there’s one Minnesota course that inspired truly venomous reviews, it’s Hiawatha. One reviewer called it “quite possibly the worst golf course in Minnesota,” blasting the greens, tee boxes, and overall maintenance. Complaints focused on bare patches, deep ruts, inconsistent putting surfaces, and pricing that golfers felt was wildly out of line with the conditions.

The frustration seems magnified because Minneapolis is known for several solid municipal layouts. Golfers expect better — and many reviewers felt Hiawatha fell dramatically short.

2. Bluff Creek Golf Course — Chaska

Bluff Creek

Bluff Creek’s reputation suffers less from catastrophic course conditions and more from golfer experience. Reviews repeatedly mention slow pace-of-play disputes and negative interactions with course staff. One Tripadvisor reviewer described being followed by a ranger and threatened with removal despite only being slightly behind pace.

Players also criticized the course layout and upkeep, calling it “mediocre quality” and not worth the hassle. In a state packed with affordable public golf options, many golfers simply believe there are better places to spend a Saturday afternoon.

3. Westfield Golf Course — Winona

Westfield

Westfield may be the definition of a “love-it-or-hate-it” local muni, but online reviews lean heavily toward the latter. One golfer described it as “the worst golf course I have ever played,” citing poor maintenance, repetitive holes, flooded sections, and unpleasant customer service.

Several complaints centered around inconsistent operations, including partially closed holes and disagreements over cart usage and tee times. For golfers traveling through southeastern Minnesota, Westfield has become one of those cautionary tales golfers warn each other about online.

The Bigger Picture

Even the worst-rated courses usually have defenders. Cheap greens fees, nostalgia, location convenience, or beginner-friendly setups can keep struggling municipal courses alive. And golf reviews are famously subjective — a scratch golfer and a casual weekend player may have completely different experiences on the same course.

Still, when the same complaints appear over and over — poor conditions, pricing concerns, and bad customer experiences — reputations stick.

That’s especially true in Minnesota, where golfers know just how good golf in the state can be.

Troon Selected to Manage Kiahuna Golf Club in Kauai, Hawaii

(Scottsdale, Ariz.)
– Troon, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, has been selected to manage Kiahuna Golf Club, a daily-fee facility in Poipu, Hawaii on the island of Kauai. Troon Golf, the resort and daily-fee division of Troon, will oversee operations, agronomy, retail and sales and marketing.

Located in Poipu, near Kauai’s southern shore, Kiahuna Golf Club features an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course. The 6,787-yard, par-70 course winds through lush tropical landscapes, lava rock formations, and ancient Hawaiian archeological sites, creating a one-of-a-kind blend of history and sport. With warm ocean breezes, rolling fairways, and panoramic mountain views, Kiahuna is a scenic destination just minutes from world-class resorts and beaches.

“Kiahuna Golf Course is more than a place to play. It reflects rich history, natural beauty and people who have shaped it for generations,” said Tom Donahue, founder and CEO of True North Companies, owner of Kiahuna. “Our ownership group sought a partner committed to community, sustainability, best-in-class hospitality, and elevating the playing experience, all while honoring Kauaʻi’s heritage. We are committed to improving the guest experience, investing in sustainability and strengthening our connection with the island community.”

Bridgestone Golf 2026 TOUR B Sweeps Weekend Trifecta with Three Wins Across Major Tours

Innovative New Golf Ball Dominates PGA TOUR, LIV Golf and PGA TOUR Champions

(Covington, Ga.) - Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, secured victories across three major Tours in one weekend, including the PGA TOUR (OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic) with Brandt Snedeker, LIV Golf (LIV Golf Virginia), and PGA TOUR Champions, where Boo Weekley won the Insperity Invitational. The sweep reinforces the Tour-proven performance of the 2026 TOUR B family across various professional circuits, course conditions and playing styles.

Snedeker, who has had a relationship with Bridgestone Golf for over 20 years, secured his big win at the OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic playing the new TOUR B X. This is Snedeker’s tenth win of his professional career and falls the same year he will serve as captain of the U.S. President’s Cup team.

“I’ve been with Bridgestone Golf throughout my PGA Tour career and I’m happy to see success with the new TOUR B X golf ball,” said Snedeker. “Hopefully there are more big wins to come with the Bridgestone family and my new TOUR B X.”

For Bridgestone Golf staffer Boo Weekley, the Insperity Invitational victory was his first on PGA TOUR Champions. The Florida native used the TOUR B XS to nail down an impressive win as the only player in the field that was bogey free for the tournament with stellar rounds of 66-66-69.

“It’s been close to thirteen years since my last win, and this one is about as sweet as they come,” said Weekley. “I’m so proud of my performance today I can’t put it into words, and I’m thankful that Bridgestone has stuck with me. The new TOUR B XS is the best golf ball I’ve ever played.”

In addition to Weekley and Snedeker, the winner of LIV Golf Virginia also relied on the explosive speed and distance of the new TOUR B X with VeloSurge technology to get the job done.

All four models of the TOUR B family – the TOUR B X and TOUR B XS for swings above 105 mph, and TOUR B RX and TOUR B RXS for swings below 105 mph – are built with VeloSurge technology, delivering a seamless synergy between the mantle and core. The new material discovery features a denser mantle material pushing the Moment of Inertia (MOI) to bounds never seen in a golf ball for increased ball speed and distance.

“We couldn’t be happier to see years of R&D developing the new TOUR B paying off on the professional tours this season,” said Dan Murphy, president of Bridgestone Golf. “Three wins in one weekend further proves that we’ve got the best ball in golf, and we are excited to see our athletes build on this momentum going into another major this weekend.”

For more information, golfers can visit bridgestonegolf.com to use Bridgestone’s online ball selection tool and determine which golf ball best suits their game.

Why Bryson DeChambeau’s Latest LIV Golf Comments Could Change the PGA TOUR’s Future

For the first time in months, Bryson DeChambeau sounds less like a golfer fully committed to LIV Golf forever — and more like someone preparing for every possible outcome.

Speaking this week, the two-time major champion acknowledged that if LIV Golf cannot continue operating beyond this season without Saudi Arabia’s financial backing, he’s open to expanding his YouTube presence and playing in tournaments that want him. Those comments immediately reignited speculation about whether DeChambeau could eventually return to the PGA TOUR.

Here are three things every golf fan should know about DeChambeau’s latest comments — and what they could mean for the future of professional golf.

1. Bryson DeChambeau Didn’t Shut the Door on the PGA TOUR

The biggest takeaway from DeChambeau’s comments is simple: he did not rule out a PGA TOUR return.

That matters because for years, many LIV players spoke as if the breakaway league was a permanent replacement for traditional professional golf. DeChambeau’s tone was noticeably different. Instead of insisting LIV is untouchable, he acknowledged uncertainty and emphasized flexibility.

When a player of DeChambeau’s stature starts talking publicly about alternative plans, it signals that even top LIV stars understand the league’s future may not be guaranteed long term.

It also suggests the divide between LIV Golf and the PGA TOUR may not be as permanent as fans once believed.

2. Bryson’s YouTube Strategy Is Becoming a Serious Business

DeChambeau also made it clear that his YouTube channel is more than just a side project.

Over the last two years, he has built one of the largest digital audiences in golf through long-drive challenges, course-record attempts, celebrity collaborations, and behind-the-scenes content. His videos routinely generate millions of views and have helped him connect with younger fans who may not watch four-hour tournament broadcasts.

That gives DeChambeau leverage few professional golfers possess.

If LIV Golf were to shrink or disappear, DeChambeau already has a built-in media platform capable of generating sponsorships, brand partnerships, and independent revenue. In many ways, he has positioned himself closer to a modern sports creator than a traditional touring professional.

That’s important because it changes how elite golfers may think about their careers moving forward.

3. The PGA TOUR-LIV Relationship May Finally Be Softening

DeChambeau’s comments arrive at a fascinating moment in professional golf.

The PGA TOUR has quietly started softening some of its positions. There have been discussions about pathways for LIV players to return, social media restrictions have loosened, and both sides appear more willing to cooperate than they were during the height of golf’s civil war.

If LIV Golf’s financial structure changes in the next year, the PGA TOUR could face pressure to welcome back players who still move television ratings and ticket sales.

And few players generate attention quite like Bryson DeChambeau.

Whether fans love him or criticize him, DeChambeau remains one of golf’s biggest attractions. He drives conversation, creates viral moments, and attracts casual viewers in ways few golfers can match.

That makes any potential PGA TOUR return impossible to ignore.

Final Thoughts

Bryson DeChambeau’s latest comments may not guarantee a PGA TOUR comeback, but they reveal something important: even LIV Golf’s biggest stars are preparing for uncertainty.

For golf fans, that means the next year could dramatically reshape the professional golf landscape once again.

And if LIV Golf’s future becomes unstable, don’t be surprised if Bryson DeChambeau eventually finds his way back onto PGA TOUR leaderboards.

The King & Prince Launches Private Club Experience with Beau Welling–Led Course Transformation

(ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.)
– The King & Prince Golf and Beach Club today announced the launch of its new membership program, marking a defining milestone in the Club’s transition to a fully private model.

The membership release coincides with a comprehensive $7 million transformation of the Club’s golf course and practice facilities, led by acclaimed designer Beau Welling. The project reflects a broader vision by owner South Street Partners (South Street) – one of the largest owners and operators of private residential club and resort communities in the United States, including Kiawah Island, Palmetto Bluff, PGA National and The Cliffs – to reestablish The King & Prince as one of the Southeast’s premier coastal golf and social club experiences. The course and its redesigned clubhouse are expected to open in late fall 2026.

Welling and Senior Design Associate Chase Webb are leading the design efforts where adjustments are focused on elevating the course’s natural character while introducing greater strategic variety and playability.

“The course has incredible bones, and our goal has been to respect the original design while refining strategic elements that will make the course more engaging day-to-day,” said Welling. “We aim to deliver an experience that rewards thoughtful play while offering a memorable experience on every hole.”

The renovation includes a complete reworking of all green complexes, redesign of fairway bunkering throughout the course, rebuilding of tees to create additional teeing options with new forward tees as well as longer back tees to extend overall yardage, opening of sightlines and enhancement of playing corridors, and conversion of cart paths from concrete to crushed gravel for a more natural aesthetic.

The par-72 routing will remain unchanged, tacking through a lush canopy of live oaks for its first 11 holes before emerging to expansive coastal views on holes 12 through 15. The spirited closing stretch then heads back inland for short- and medium-length par 4s, respectively, capped off by a reachable closing par 5. With the updates, the course will now measure more than 6,600 yards from the back tees.

“Through strategic adjustments to the greens and bunkering, the course will take on a renewed feel, further enhanced by opening up striking sightlines to showcase the area’s spectacular marsh views and Lowcountry setting throughout the round,” said Welling, whose Lowcountry credits include recent renovations at Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Georgia and Oak Marsh Golf Course in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

A standout example is the reimagined par-5 third hole. Welling and team have shifted the recontoured green site back 17 yards, adding length while bringing the surrounding marsh more into play. The newly shaped putting surface features bold contouring, highlighted by a distinct ridge through the middle that slopes toward both the front and rear of the green. The adjusted design places a premium on precise shot placement, while still remaining receptive to the ground game.

“Across all 18 holes, we have sought to reward thoughtful shotmaking while ensuring each hole has a unique character that makes it memorable in its own right,” said Welling. “The third hole really illustrates our efforts to improve visuals and bring the amazing setting more into play, but also to implement design changes that elevate and calibrate strategy while maintaining playability.”

In parallel, the Club’s practice facilities are being fully upgraded, including a rebuilt driving range, short-game area and putting green, that can be tailored to support a wide range of skill levels.

A Club Experience Designed for Connection

Beyond golf, The King & Prince is undergoing a broader transformation to create a more social club environment reflective of St. Simons Island’s relaxed coastal lifestyle.

Planned enhancements include a redesigned clubhouse with a new club room, an outdoor terrace with covered dining and gathering space, upgraded locker rooms and pro shop experience, and a new outdoor halfway house and dedicated pre- and post-round hangout area designed to serve as a social hub for members.

Members will also enjoy access to The King & Prince Beach & Golf Resort, which is being enhanced alongside the Club with future upgrades planned across guest rooms, dining, pools, beach amenities and event spaces.

With golf at its foundation, The King & Prince reflects the spirit of great clubs while offering a more relaxed and welcoming environment for family and lasting social connection. It will not be just another private club; instead, it will be a place where golf and island life mingle in a way that feels both timeless and newly energized.

A Strategic Repositioning

South Street acquired The King & Prince in 2024 with a long-term vision to reposition the property as a leading coastal club destination. South Street’s investment, development and club experience in the luxury marketplace provides the opportunity to impact and improve every aspect of the project. The new course and club renovation is part of a slate of unique programs and amenities South Street is integrating to augment the incredible lifestyle and offerings The King & Prince is known for.

Northview Hotels & Resorts was subsequently introduced to lead project management and operational execution across the broader repositioning.

“From day one, we saw the opportunity to thoughtfully reinvest in The King & Prince and restore it to its full potential,” said Chris Randolph, managing partner at South Street. “This is about creating a club that feels both elevated and approachable — one that reflects the character of St. Simons while delivering a best-in-class member experience.”

Membership opportunities are now available. For information, please visit kingandprincegolfclub.com.

Pebble Beach revives signature feature on its fabled 18th hole

A replacement tree planted on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach;
A new tree was planted to replace one lost in 2014.

If a tree falls on the fairway of a famous golf hole, does anybody notice? They sure do.

They also notice when it gets replaced.

On Thursday, Pebble Beach Golf Links posted photos of a fresh addition to its 18th hole, where a second cypress tree has been planted, replacing one that toppled during a Dec. 11, 2014 winter storm. The work restores a feature that had long complicated tee shots and layups on the fabled par-5 finisher.

The replacement tree came from the 17th hole at nearby Spyglass Hill. It now stands in the same spot once occupied by the storm-felled tree, roughly 30 yards closer to the green than its companion pine.

Ranked 15th on GOLF’s list of Top 100 Courses in the World, Pebble Beach opened in 1919 and has evolved over more than a century of life, undergoing tweaks both subtle and significant. In 1997, for instance, Jack Nicklaus was hired to build a new par-3 5th hole, a change that brought the hole to the edge of the bluffs overlooking Stillwater Cove.

Since 2010 alone, the course has undergone a slew of additional refinements — longer tees on the 2nd and 9th holes, restored bunkers, and recontoured greens designed to revive classic features and open up new hole locations.

The tree planting comes as Pebble fine-tunes the course ahead of the 2027 U.S. Open, which it will host for a record seventh time.

This is not the first time an iconic tree has been replaced at Pebble. In 2002, an 80-foot Monterey cypress was planted beside the 18th green, taken from the 1st hole to replace the original, which had died of pitch canker disease. That replanting — digging a giant hole, maneuvering a giant root ball into place — was something of a spectacle.

But it played out with less immediate fanfare in the age before Instagram.

Bonita Bay Club Membership Approves $110 Million Clubhouse Transformational Project

(NAPLES, Fla.)
— Bonita Bay Club, Florida’s largest member-owned private golf club, will embark on a landmark $110 million clubhouse project, marking a significant milestone in the Club’s ongoing evolution.

Approved with strong member support, the new clubhouse, which will be built in two phases on the club’s 2400-acre main campus, reflects a commitment to enhancing the Club’s facilities and prepares for future growth. The planned 140,000-square-foot clubhouse has been designed in a Florida coastal style to elevate the members’ experience while improving operational efficiency and staff work environments.

Key features include distinct dining venues: the expansion of the popular 55th Hole restaurant, complete with indoor and outdoor dining and an integrated sushi bar; The Sunset Lounge for casual drinks and light bites; and a rooftop bar with sweeping views of the golf courses and the Gulf of Mexico beyond.

A grand ballroom will accommodate 360 people, with a dance floor and a band, and will also serve as a card room for daily table games. Multiple private function rooms will be added, along with a lower-level parking garage to improve accessibility. Three full-service kitchens will support expanded culinary programs throughout the Club.

Dedicated Employee Areas, Operational Efficiencies

A key element in the new clubhouse design is a substantial investment in employee and operational spaces. Employee facilities will increase by approximately 500 percent, planned in direct response to a member survey that identified the need for enhancements to staff areas, modernized kitchens, and expanded operational capacity as top priorities for the Club’s future.

“This project is far more than a new clubhouse—it reflects our identity as a member-owned club and the commitment to continuous reinvestment in our amenities,” said Fred Fung, CEO and General Manager of Bonita Bay Club. “At the same time, it underscores our dedication to the team by providing the resources and environment needed to deliver exceptional service now and in the future.”  Member access to amenities and dining will continue during the two-phased construction project.

This new building marks the final phase of a broader, multi-decade transformation. Since acquiring the Club from its original developer in 2010, members have invested approximately $250 million in capital funds, upgrading all major amenities across the property. Anticipating the evolving interests of members and their families, the Club has emerged as a trailblazer in lifestyle innovation beyond the fairways. Over the past 15 years, Bonita Bay Club has undergone an extraordinary transformation, marked by visionary renovations and state-of-the-art new builds that elevate every aspect of the member experience.

Escalante Golf Acquires Nationally Ranked Hawks Ridge Golf Club

Nine-Time U.S. Open Qualifying Site Is Masterfully Routed Over Gently Rolling Terrain One Hour North of Atlanta

(FORT WORTH, Texas) – Escalante Golf – a boutique owner and operator of luxury golf properties across 17 states – has acquired Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Georgia.

Since opening in 1999, Hawks Ridge has been regularly ranked among the country’s Top 200 Modern Courses by Golfweek and Georgia’s best courses by Golf Digest. This June, Hawks Ridge will be one of 10 U.S. courses to host final qualifying for the 126th U.S. Open Championship, marking the ninth time it has been selected for this honor.

Childhood friends Mike Nixon and Joe Jillson founded the club after searching far and wide for the best land they could find in greater Atlanta. Their quest led them to a secluded parcel about one hour north of downtown.

After an extensive nationwide process, they selected Bob Cupp as the course designer. Cupp – whose credits include Pumpkin Ridge outside of Portland, Oregon and Liberty National just west of New York City – had worked with Jack Nicklaus on Ohio’s Muirfield Village, one of the founders’ favorite courses. Presented with an ideal canvas of 550 wooded, rolling acres, Cupp created a golf course that has received acclaim for its strong shot values, thought-provoking mix of shorter and longer holes, and exceptional conditioning.

From day one, these on-course attributes have been complemented by a welcoming off-course vibe. Beyond the 18-hole course, other feature amenities at Hawks Ridge are a nine hole par-3 course, spacious clubhouse, tavern-style restaurant, state-of-the-art training center, helipad and two four-bedroom member cottages. This atmosphere of great golf and comfortable luxury has been key to attracting a club membership that includes some of Atlanta’s most prominent athletes and accomplished business people.

“We’re honored to become the next stewards of Hawks Ridge, and to continue its legacy as a club known for great golf and genuine camaraderie,” said David McDonald, President & Partner at Escalante Golf. “Mike and Joe possessed incredible vision when they successfully combined world-class golf course architecture with a laid-back club vibe. They established a standard for excellence that seamlessly aligns with our team’s mission to deliver an amazing golf experience every day to our members and their guests. The Membership at Hawks Ridge is one composed not only of higher-caliber players, but great people as well. Mike and Joe built a true players’ club, one to be enjoyed for generations to come. We’re prepared and honored to preserve that legacy.”

Golf course architect Tripp Davis has been retained to create a masterplan for the Club. In 2022, Davis completed an extensive renovation of Atlanta Athletic Club’s Riverside course and is currently putting the finishing touches on an original design, The Rose Golf Club, outside of Athens, Georgia. Davis and Escalante enjoy a close relationship, as the heralded architect has worked with the team at The International’s Oaks Course (Bolton, Mass.), BlackHorse Golf Club (Cypress, Texas) and Black Diamond Ranch (Lecanto, Fla.).

“Our team is committed to ensuring the Hawks Ridge practice facility, instruction programming, tournament schedule and culinary offerings are complementary to its exceptional on-course golf experience,” added Jeff Kindred, COO, Escalante Golf. “We are excited for the opportunity to bring this iconic club – one with such a strong culture of excellence shared by both members and staff – into its next chapter.”

YouTube Creator Ryan Ruffels Wins The Q at Myrtle Beach

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.)
— Play Golf Myrtle Beach (PGMB), the premier resource for the Golf Capital of the World, is excited to announce Ryan Ruffels as the winner of The Q at Myrtle Beach. With the victory, Ruffels secures the final spot in the 2026 ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, set for May 7-10 at Dunes Golf & Beach Club.

The innovative, two-round competition, which saw eight of the world’s most popular golf creators battle for a PGA TOUR exemption, concluded April 30 in a high-stakes finale at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club.

Making his debut appearance in the event, Ruffels, an Orlando-based professional golfer with 20 career PGA TOUR starts, leveraged his experience to navigate the pressure-packed finale. Ruffels edged Grant Horvat, who finished second among the field of heavy hitters that included George Bryan IV, who was seeking redemption after a runner-up finish in the inaugural event.

Following a series of intense head-to-head match-play contests during the first round at Rivers Edge Golf Club, four finalists, Ruffels, Grant Horvat, Micah Morris and Luke Kwon advanced to the final round for a stroke-play shootout to determine who claims the exemption and a spot in the tournament field.

Horvat seized early momentum with four consecutive birdies to open his round, but three bogeys before the turn allowed Ruffels to stay within striking distance. Ruffels’ professional experience proved to be the decisive advantage on the back nine, where he remained bogey-free and recorded pivotal birdies on the 14th and 16th holes. While Horvat moved back to even-par with a birdie on the 15th, a bogey on the 17th and a double bogey on the 18th ended his title hopes. Ruffels remained composed to finish with a 1-under-par 71, two strokes ahead of Horvat, who finished with a 1-over-par 73. Kwon and Morris finished T3 after carding scores of 5-over-par 77.

“This is what you dream about when you start creating content, the chance to bridge the gap and prove you can still compete at the highest level,” said Ryan Ruffels. “Playing against competitors like George and Grant with a PGA TOUR spot on the line is a massive adrenaline rush. I’m honored to represent the creator community next week at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.”

Ruffels joins past champions Matt Atkins (2024) and Nathan Franks (2025) as winners of the event. Ruffels will make his return to the PGA TOUR on May 7 when he makes his debut in the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club.

“The Q at Myrtle Beach continues to prove that it is the premier platform for bridging the gap between the worlds of digital and professional golf,” said Kyle Oland, Director of Marketing for Golf Tourism Solutions. “Ryan’s clutch play to come from behind down the stretch demonstrates the level of talent residing in the YouTube golf space. This wasn’t an exhibition; it was a high-stakes battle, and we can’t wait to see Ryan compete against the best in the world at the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic.”

The Q at Myrtle Beach is a first-of-its-kind competition, generating millions of views and serving as the inspiration for other creator-centric events such as the PGA TOUR’s Creator Classic. Its innovative approach to bridge the gap between professional golf and digital golf creators has been recognized nationally, including being honored with the PGA TOUR’s “Best In-Class Element” award in 2024. Fans can watch the full journey of the 2026 competition on YouTube. The first round is available on Grant Horvat’s channel, while the Championship Round is hosted on the Bryan Bros channel.
