(Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) - Sligo Wear, known for its trend-setting styles, has signed Canada’s Graham DeLaet to a multi-year endorsement contract that will see the PGA Tour player dressed in Sligo Wear’s distinctive, cutting-edge apparel, starting this week at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
DeLaet, a native of Weyburn, Sask., is on the comeback trail this year after missing virtually the entire 2011 PGA Tour season following back surgery. The 29-year-old enjoyed a successful rookie season on Tour in 2010, showing promise by earning $950,000 despite suffering from a bulging disc.
“We are very excited to have Graham represent Sligo Wear ” said Shawn Aucoin, Director of Sales and Marketing for the rising global brand. “Graham is a dynamic young golf professional and his determination and desire will be exemplified again this season on the PGA Tour. He is arguably the best of the new generation of Canadian golf professionals, which makes all of us here at home particularly proud to add a countryman to the Sligo Wear team.”
DeLaet joins three-time PGA Tour winner Brian Gay, Nationwide Tour winner Justin Hicks and prominent American golf instructor Jeff Ritter on the Sligo Wear professional staff.
Sligo Wear’s reputation for introducing technologically advanced materials and vibrant colors is reinforced by its eclectic 2012 collection that includes distinctively designed golf shirts, short- and long-sleeved wind shirts and jackets, as well as sweaters in three styles – v-neck, quarter-zip and cardigans – and technical solid and patterned pants and shorts.
