2012 PGA Merchandise Show floor to feature distinctly new look

(NORWALK, Conn.) - Several new anchor exhibits, interactive destinations and industry programs will bring a distinctly new look and feel to the Show floor of the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show, January 26-28, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Many of golf's top manufacturers are planning new displays and uses of floor space to promote their latest products and merchandising programs including Bridgestone, Callaway Golf, Cobra-PUMA, Nike Golf, PING, TaylorMade and Titleist.

"Every major golf brand is represented at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show and they are using the Show to launch new, innovative products in exciting new ways on the Show floor," said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President John McGeary. "Additionally, we are pleased to welcome back industry-leading brands like FootJoy, Ecco and Oakley who are returning to the Show floor with innovative new products and show floor presentations. All of this bodes well for our industry and promises to be a dynamic environment to launch golf's new year of business."

Additionally, multiple new Show floor destinations such as the Fashion E Studio, Golf Business Solutions Zone and the ICG Connections Center join a long list of popular attendee interactive destinations such as the Equipment Test Center, PGA Forum Stage and New Product Zone.

"Our goal is to create valuable industry programs and resources throughout the PGA Merchandise Show floor to help attendees easily accomplish business objectives, drive traffic throughout all 10 miles of Show aisles and sustain a dynamic energy covering every inch of the Show floor from the Indoor Demo Days of the equipment hall to the Fashion E Studio of the apparel hall," said McGeary.

The 2012 PGA Merchandise Show floor destinations include:
Indoor Demo Days at the Equipment Test Center - The country's largest indoor golf range and equipment test center, Indoor Demo Days allows attendees to experience hands-on testing of the newest equipment and the latest advances in technology and design from leading golf companies. The Equipment Test Center features a scalloped layout of some 47 hitting bays, a putting green and a PGA Short Game Challenge Area.

PGA Forum Stage - Jack Nicklaus, World Golf Hall of Fame member and golf icon, will join The PGA of America and industry leaders to promote Golf 2.0, golf's new strategic plan to grow participation in the game, to the global golf community from the PGA Forum Stage on the Show's opening morning, Thursday, January 26, 2012. The PGA Forum stage also will feature additional presentations on player development, new equipment introductions, women's golf initiatives, golf employment, teaching best practices, merchandising ideas and more.

New Product Zone - The popular "New Product Zone," a Show floor destination that some 87 percent of attendees visit, will showcase hundreds of the newest equipment, apparel, products and accessories in one convenient Show floor setting.

Fashion E Studio - The new Fashion E-Studio is an exciting interactive destination showcasing the latest golf fashion, styles, colors, fabrics, performance and trends from the leading brands in the industry. Fashion experts Argy Koutsothanasis and Annmarie Dodd are returning to host live presentations throughout Show Week and highlight category killers, fitness apparel must-haves and the hottest trends in apparel and accessories. Many presentations will be streamed to a virtual audience.

Inventor's Spotlight - The United Inventors Association (UIA) and Invention Home are co-hosting the Inventor's Spotlight, a specialty area designed for inventors to gauge interest from the golf community regarding an innovative new product or service not in the marketplace.

Golf Business Solutions Zone - This new Show floor destination is open to all industry professionals to provide proven solutions to facility management, revenue maximization and clubhouse utilization issues. Industry leaders, golf allied organizations and business solutions services and companies will find a home in this new destination of meeting space, exhibits and presentation stage. Within the Golf Business Solutions Zone, Henry DeLozier, Principal of Global Golf Group, and Steve Graves, Founder and President of Creative Golf Marketing will provide complimentary business consulting appointments for attendees.

ICG Connections Center - The International Clubmakers Guild will provide attendees the opportunity to meet with vendors dedicated to the clubmaking profession, attend continuing education seminars, network with golf industry professionals, and participate in the inaugural ICG general membership meeting.

Exhibitor Pavilions - Multiple specialty exhibitor pavilions allow attendees to easily locate products and services in one convenient setting. Specialty pavilions in 2012 include: Golf Travel; Teaching, Training Aids & Fitness; Golf Lifestyles; New Exhibitor Discovery Zone; PGA Sponsors & Licensees; and International Exhibitors.

PGA Section Short Game Challenge - Within the ETC, PGA Professionals will once again have the opportunity for bragging rights among their peers by testing their chipping and putting skills in the PGA Section Short Game Challenge right on the Show floor. Each PGA Professional and PGA apprentice competitor will be allowed two putts and two chips with the total distance of all putts and chips used to determine each day's final results. Prize money will be paid to the winning PGA Sections on a daily basis. The PGA Section Short Game Challenge is supported by PGA partners Callaway Golf, Cobra, Nike, PING, TaylorMade and Titleist.

PGA Golf Shop - The PGA Golf Shop moves from the member-only PGA Member Business Center to the Show floor in 2012 to provide all attendees with the opportunity to order and purchase PGA-licensed merchandise in their state-of-the-art 5,600 square-foot store.
