Ryder Cup stars set for £2 million windfall if either can conquer Augusta
(RELEASE) - Lee Westwood and Darren Clarke are both aiming for first time Masters success when they tee off at Augusta tomorrow and, courtesy of sponsors Dunlop, they'll also land a bumper £2 million bonus to go with it.
Westwood and Clarke, who endorse Dunlop clothing only, will land a massive £2 million courtesy of a unique sponsorship deal that they enjoy with the leading golf brand. The agreement stipulates that the Ryder Cup stalwarts are entitled to scoop £2 million for a major championship victory. If either does secure victory at Augusta, their sponsors will be the first to toast their success.
David Newbury, Dunlop's Head of Brand Marketing, said: "Darren and Lee are two of the most popular golfers on tour. They have been part of the wonderful game of golf for so many years and deserve every success. We wish them every success across the four days."
