(Beaverton, Ore.) - Nike Golf athlete Miguel Tabuena maintained his focus and clinched his first Asian Tour title at the Philippine Open becoming the first Filipino to win his National Open since 2008. The 21-year-old’s victory brings to 10 the number of professional wins by Nike athletes around the world.
Tabuena, who’s come close to victory on several occasions on the Asian Tour, provided an impressive back nine performance having made six birdies en route to a six-under-par round of 66 and a one-stroke victory.
“I’m glad the Philippine Open is my first Asian Tour title,” said Tabuena. “I’m really happy that my name will be on this prestigious trophy alongside some of the legends in golf in Asia’s oldest National Open.”
Helping him to his first win was the combination of Tabuena’s Nike Vapor Pro Driver and Nike RZN Platinum golf ball. He also sported Nike Golf apparel and the Nike Lunar Control 3 shoe.
