(HARRIS, Mich.) – Tickets are on sale for the LPGA Symetra Tour’s Island Resort Championship at Sweetgrass Golf Club (www.sweetgrassgolfclub.com), June 26-28, with all proceeds going to local non-profit organizations.
The Symetra Tour “Road to the LPGA” is the world's largest international women's development tour and provides fans at highly acclaimed Sweetgrass Golf Club a front-row seat to watch rising stars of the women’s game. Former Symetra Tour players have won 359 LPGA titles, including 38 major championships.
Three-day grounds passes to the 54-hole event are $10 and include entry into daily prize drawings. Children 17 years old and under are admitted free with a paying adult.
Tickets are available at Island Resort & Casino and at local organizations such as the Delta County Junior Golf Association and the NCA Guarantee Scholarship Fund. For a complete list of outlets visit http://www.sweetgrassgolfclub.com/symetra-tour-2015.
“One of the great benefits of the tournament’s success is the ticket-donation program," said Tony Mancilla, Island Resort & Casino general manager and event co-chair. "Last year we set an attendance record with more than 5,000 fans and we expect a similar turnout this summer."
For a fifth straight year, Sweetgrass Golf Club, ranked a Golfweek 2015 “Best Course You Can Play” in Michigan, hosts a field of 144 players competing for a $125,000 purse and chance to win a 2016 LPGA Tour card. The Island Resort Championship is also part of the Potawatomi Cup, a series of tournaments involving courses with Native American Indian or Potawatomi tribal ties.
Volunteers continue to be sought, providing fans four complimentary admission passes, a free round of golf at Sweetgrass Golf Club, a staff shirt and meal tickets. Applications can be filled out until June 1 at deltami.org.
