World-class championship golf course cements its place among the golf elites in Central America
(Riviera Pacifica, Panama) – The Buenaventura Golf & Beach Resort has announced it has received the coveted World Golf Award for the category of “Panama’s Best Golf Course 2018.” This is the second year The Buenaventura Golf Club has received this honor. The World Golf Awards celebrate and reward excellence in golf tourism, world-class courses and golf destinations through its annual awards program voted by golf industry professionals and the public.
“It is an honor for the Buenaventura Golf Club to have been selected as “Best Golf Course in Panama 2018” by the prestigious World Golf Awards,” said Alfonso Castiñeira, Director of Golf at Buenaventura Golf Club. “This award confirms the commitment of our entire team to provide a unique golf experience for both our members and guests, adding value not only to our golf course, but also the resort and its amenities.”
The breathtaking 18-hole Nicklaus-design par-72 championship course is home to one of the only two in Panama and is managed by the world’s largest golf management company, Troon. Designed within a seaside community, the Buenaventura’s golf course incorporates the surrounding water and lush environment within its 123 acres. With more than 110 unique water bunkers set around the course and 300 mature Corotu trees strategically placed throughout the landscape, the golf course provides both a stunning atmosphere and a challenging game. Players who appreciate a difficult hole will enjoy the course’s signature hole 16, which is set between two large Corotu trees that are challenging to maneuver.
Those looking to take their swing to the next level can also take advantage of the driving range with numerous spots to hit from natural grass along with a short game, 3-hole par 3 course, chipping and putting green for practicing in between games.
