(PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida) – Bobby Weed Golf Design (www.bobbyweed.com) has completed a redesign of the practice facility at Interlachen Country Club, a private invitation-only club in Winter Park, Fla.
“Players will welcome this new complex for its low-profile short-game greens, allowing for precisely-calibrated practice,” said Bobby Weed.
The new facility features a 10,000 square-foot putting green with subtle contours, a chipping green with generous surrounds to allow for a variety of shots and a bunker green with four bunkers of varying sizes.
“Effective practice should focus on developing confidence and repetition,” Weed added. “We have created a facility that allows golfers to develop these attributes.”
The project also includes an enlarged main tee area on the range, with a two-bay academy building planned for the future.
Said Chris Monti, Weed’s design partner: “The entire facility is intended to mimic what we hope will be a course-wide renovation in the near term. We’ve utilized new, updated turfgrass varieties, a new bunker aesthetic and more short cut surrounds.”
LandIrr Golf Construction, a local golf course contractor, is performing all aspects of the facility upgrades.
