Golf Pride was the Chosen Grip by 80% of Players at the 117th U.S. Open

(SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.) - Eaton announced that its Golf Pride Grips Division was the most used swing and putter grip brand played at the 2017 United States Open Championship at Erin Hills.

The #1 Grip in Golf was trusted by 125 of 156 players (80%) in the tournament field at the 117th U.S. Open, including the champion, who relied on Tour Velvet Cord model grips and a Golf Pride putter grip, in his first career major victory. In addition, 33 players in the field used Golf Pride’s popular MCC model grips, which was more than double the nearest leading competitor brand used, including the first major appearance for Golf Pride’s latest breakthrough performance grip, the MCC ALIGN Technology. ALIGN Technology features a dedicated raised ridge that extends down the back of the grip for consistent hand placement allowing the golfer to feel alignment.

“We are honored to once again be part in another break-through performance for a first-time major championship winner,” said Brandon Sowell, global sales and marketing director for Golf Pride. “With the victory, players using Golf Pride have won 9 of the last 10 U.S. Opens, including four in a row since 2014.”

Each week, Golf Pride is the leading grip played from tee-to-green on the PGA TOUR with an average of 80% of pros choosing Golf Pride swing grips in each event, without any paid endorsements.
