(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Cleveland Golf /Srixon congratulates staffer Jon Curran for his first career victory at the Web.com Tour’s 2014 Brasil Champions presented by HSBC, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The 27-year-old graduate of Vanderbilt University completed a wire-to wire victory on Sunday, closing with a 2-under 69 to finish the tournament at 25-under 259 at the San Paulo Golf Club. In only his fourth start on the Web.com Tour, Curran opened with a course-record 61, followed by rounds of 64 and 65. The victory earned Curran a $144,000 winner’s check, moving him into 2nd place on the Web.com Tour money list and virtually securing himself a spot on the 2015 PGA TOUR.
"It's probably the best I've ever played or putted or scored for 36 holes. I wasn't sure what was going on. It was ridiculous. I just wondered what the heck was going on," said Curran. "It sounds cliché, but I wasn't doing anything special. I was making a lot of putts. I was hitting a lot of quality iron shots and putting it in the fairway. I was giving myself a lot of chances to hit it close and I felt pretty confident with the putter."
Curran currently plays a Srixon Z-STAR XV ball with Spin Skin technology, as well as Cleveland 588 RTX wedges (48°, 52°, 58°), a Cleveland 588 MT iron (#4 - Miyazaki 83x hybrid), a Cleveland 588 TT iron (#4), Cleveland CG16 Tour irons (#5-9), a Cleveland Classic XL driver (9.0° - Miyazaki Indigo 61X), a Cleveland Classic fairway (14° - Miyazaki Indigo 71X), a Cleveland Launcher DST hybrid (#2i – Miyazaki C. Kua 83X) and a Cleveland Classic HB putter (#1). Curran wears a Cleveland Golf/Srixon hat and carries a Cleveland Golf bag.
