Quaker Ridge Golf Club to Host Inaugural Quaker Ridge Challenge to Support the 2018 Curtis Cup

(Scarsdale, NY) - Quaker Ridge Golf Club announces the inaugural Quaker Ridge Challenge tournament on July 10 to support the 2018 Curtis Cup, which the iconic club will host next June. Quaker Ridge in Scarsdale, New York, is one of the country’s most historic courses and is rated consistently in the U.S. top 100 lists. Designed in 1916 by legendary architect A.W. Tillinghast, Quaker Ridge is considered one of his finest creations.

Co-conducted by The R&A and USGA, the Curtis Cup is a biennial competition between top women amateur golfers from the United States and Great Britain and Ireland (GB&I). Quaker Ridge Golf Club will welcome the 2018 teams for the matches that are scheduled June 8-10. In 1997, the club hosted the prestigious Walker Cup Match for amateur men representing the USA and GB&I teams.

The Quaker Ridge Challenge gives area golfers the rare opportunity to play the heralded course, which celebrated its centennial in 2016. Participants may choose to play for either the USA or GB&I team and can register as an individual, a twosome or foursome. The tournament format is best ball of the foursome, net and gross. There are a limited number of playing spots, so early registration is encouraged to enjoy a day of exceptional golf and hospitality to support the 2018 Curtis Cup. The Quaker Ridge Challenge also has designated the 501 © (3) MGA Foundation as the event’s charitable partner.

The cost to play is a $1,500 donation per player or $6,000 for a foursome. To register or for additional information about the Quaker Ridge Challenge, please call (203) 454-0232. Also, a presenting sponsorship and other sponsorship packages are available.
