GolfTalk Live Named PA's Best Radio Show by Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters

(PHILADELPHIA, PA) - The GolfTalk Live radio show is receiving the prestigious Judge's Merit Award for Excellence in Broadcasting from the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters (PAB).  It is the third year in a row the award has been won by the Philadelphia-based golf and lifestyle show.

The winning submission, titled "GolfTalk Live at Notre Dame," aired in September of 2016 on the 50th anniversary of the controversial football game that ended in a 10-10 tie between Notre Dame and Michigan State. It was part of a golf-and-football trip with show host Tony Leodora. The show featured many prominent Notre Dame grads from the Philadelphia area, in a broadcast captured on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.

The PAB trophy, signifying the highest award for broadcasting in Pennsylvania, is the second impressive award received by GolfTalk Live in 2017.  The first was an Outstanding Achievement Award from the International Network of Golf (ING), given in January at the PGA Merchandise Show, and awarded to GolfTalk Live producer Eddie Caiazzo.

"Being recognized by your peers in the golf industry is always exciting and humbling," comments show host Tony Leodora.  "But receiving the highest honor in the category of all radio programming, not just sports, for three consecutive years, means we are continuing to provide an informative and entertaining radio show for our listeners.  Thanks to all of our sponsors, supporters and listeners who continuously have proven that golf does have a place on radio."

The GolfTalk Live radio show airs weekly on flagship station WNTP 990-AM in Philadelphia. It is syndicated on WOND 1400-AM in South Jersey and on three ESPN stations in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos, 1160, 1230 and 1320-AM. It is also carried on The Golf Director network, across the country and in 135 foreign countries.

GolfTalk Live has now achieved three ING No. 1 Golf Radio Show in America awards and three "Judges Merit" awards from the PAB, as No. 1 Radio Show in Pennsylvania, since going on-air in 2006.

"Congratulations to Tony and his team of professionals at GolfTalk Live for being recognized by the PAB once again for the quality sports and lifestyle program they produce each week," comments Gregg Stiansen, General Manager of WNTP 990-AM in Philadelphia.  "Tony's passion and enthusiasm for what he does is evident in the relationships he surrounds himself with, and the exclusive content that creates a show like none other.  We are proud to be a partner with Tony and GolfTalk Live for over eleven years. Thank you Tony!"
