VPAR’s simple handheld scorepads let groups input their scores and view a real-time leaderboard as they play through the course. Scores are also displayed live online ( and on screens in the clubhouse.

“We’re happy for an avid golfer like Richard to enjoy wonderful Kiawah Island Golf Resort and the VPAR experience,” said VPAR Managing Director Jason Stoop. “Coupled with the live leaderboard each team will be able to reference, the tournament mimics the feel and excitement of a professional event.”

Since scoring the event last year, VPAR’s mobile app – which utilizes the same technology – captured “Best Sports App” at the 2014 Sports Technology Awards. VPAR’s live scoring service is also used at more than 900 events each year across 20 countries.
