ANNIKA Academy ELITE Training Program Achieves 900% Growth

Impressive 2014 Full-Time Program Results Testament to Success of Annika’s ‘Winning Approach’ with Aspiring Juniors, Professionals

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – The ANNIKA Academy – Hall-of-Fame golfer Annika Sorenstam’s boutique golf instruction and fitness school – announces its ELITE Training Program achieved 900% growth in full-time athlete enrollment in 2014.

The ELITE Training Program is specifically designed to help aspiring junior and professional golfers accomplish their goals on the golf course, in the classroom and in life. ELITE Athletes receive golf, fitness and nutrition coaching from Annika’s hand-picked team schooled in her “Winning Approach” philosophy. Each instructor is trained to identify swing faults and develop individualized, powerful, body-friendly swings built for longevity and consistency.

Full- and part-time scheduling is available. More than 70 athletes took advantage of the part-time option in 2014, electing programs administered by the day, week, month or semester.

“Annika’s ‘Winning Approach’ is the foundation for everything we do and vital to our students’ incredible success on and off the course,” says Charlotta Sorenstam, Head Teaching Professional at the ANNIKA Academy. “With PGA and LPGA Tour winners, All-Americans, USGA champions and AJGA standouts realizing immense benefits from the ELITE Training Program, we’re confident our strong growth will continue in 2015 and beyond.”

Day-to-day instruction is led by Charlotta, an LPGA winner and 1993 NCAA Champion; Henri Reis, Annika’s only swing coach since she was 10 years old; and Mark Bereza. Kai Fusser, Annika’s personal trainer for more than a decade, leads the fitness component, while former World Champion Wake Boarder, Emily Durham, is also intimately involved.

Their expertise is complemented by Annika, a 10-time major champion and only woman to break 60 in a professional tournament, regularly sharing her “Your 59” mental training and visualization strategies with students.

Recent ELITE Program Athletes realizing their dreams of playing collegiate golf include Shannon Aubert (Stanford University), Samantha Wagner (University of Florida) and Simin Feng (Vanderbilt University and 2014 Individual SEC Champion). Latanna Stone, the youngest player to ever qualify for the U.S. Women’s Amateur (10), is also an ELITE alumna.

Top-ranked junior Mathilda Cappeliez of France, who captured the 2014 Dixie Women’s Amateur, is a current ELITE pupil. Thirteen-year-old Anne Yu of China, winner of the 2014 FCWT Junior Classic Tournament, is another future star training at the Academy’s home of Reunion Resort.

Several students reside full-time at Reunion and take advantage of its three signature golf courses, multiple restaurants, water park and more. Some attend award-winning Windermere Preparatory School, while others are enrolled at highly-regarded Lake Nona High School.

Professional golfers have also realized gains from the ELITE Training Program. They include Anna Nordqvist (2009 LPGA Champion), Jonas Blixt (two-time PGA TOUR winner), Min Lee (Symetra Tour winner, LPGA player), Louise Friberg (LPGA and Symetra Tour player) and Ai-Chen Kuo (TLPGA winner).
