George Fazio Course at Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort Named 2014 SC Course of the Year
The South Carolina Board of Directors of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) awarded the prestigious statewide accolade to the George Fazio Course, which will now compete in the next tier at the national level. The win follows the “Chapter Course of the Year” award, voted by the Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association.
The NGCOA criteria includes: exceptional quality of the course; exceptional quality of management; outstanding contribution to the community; and significant contribution to the game. The honor completes a trifecta for Palmetto Dunes, as all three of the resort’s golf courses have been named South Carolina’s Course of the Year.
“It’s certainly a tremendous distinction for all of Palmetto Dunes’ courses to win South Carolina Course of the Year,” said Brad Marra, Vice President of Resort Operations. “The George Fazio course offers year-round championship golf in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Many golfers regard it, the only par-70 on Hilton Head Island, as the island’s most challenging layout.”
Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort offers a storied history of unparalleled golf experiences for guests from all corners of the globe. The resort is renowned for the excellent quality of its courses, challenging layouts and commitment to customer service.
