Scott, Stenson, English Rely on Titleist for Winning Success

(Fairhaven, MA) - In professional golf, you can't take anything for granted.  You have to prove yourself over and over again.  This week, Titleist golf ball loyalists Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson and Harris English did just that, adding to the victory counts they already achieved this year.

Making the most of his first trip home since winning the Masters in April and The Barclays in August, Adam Scott relied on the Pro V1 and a full bag of Titleist golf clubs to win for the second consecutive week in Australia … He followed up his Australian PGA victory last week with a two-shot triumph at the Talisker Masters on Sunday … A truly international player, Scott’s most recent victory marks the 24th of his career to date across the worldwide professional tours … Scott, who finished with a 14-under 270 victory total will now try to win the Australian Triple Crown at the Australian Open in two weeks … Before that, he will participate for Australia at the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf at Royal Melbourne, the same venue as his most recent title.

What’s in Adam Scott’s Bag?:  Titleist Pro V1 golf ball, 913D3 driver (9.5), 910Fd fairway metal (15), 712U 2-iron, 680 irons (3-9), Vokey Design SM4 pitching (48) and sand (54) wedges, Vokey Design TVD K-grind lob (60) wedge, Scotty Cameron Futura X long putter.

Quoting Adam Scott: “I’ve never won back-to-back weeks so this is a first and something that I like.  I think it’s very hard to win two tournaments full stop, let alone back to back, so I’m quite pleased with myself this week."

EUROPEAN TOUR:  Titleist Pro V1x golf ball loyalist Henrik Stenson completed a "dream season" by claiming a historic double - the first player to win The Race to Dubai on the European Tour and the FedEx Cup on the U.S. PGA TOUR in the same season – following a six shot victory at the DP World Tour Championship Dubai … Stenson fired a closing 64 that included six birdies and was punctuated with a tap-in eagle on the final hole en route to a tournament-record 25-under par, 263 victory total … Stenson was followed on the leaderboard by Ian Poulter (Pro V1x/2nd), last week’s winner Victor Dubuisson (Pro V1x/3rd) and Joost Luiten (Pro V1/4th), as each of the top four finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success … Luke Donald (Pro V1x) and Lee Westwood (Pro V1x) were among three players tied for fifth … The win was the first European Tour title of the year for Stenson, who also captured the Deutsche Bank Championship and TOUR Championship, two of the closing four FedExCup Playoffs events on the U.S. PGA TOUR.

PGA TOUR:  Harris English captured the OHL Classic for his second title in 2013 … English pulled away for a four-stroke margin of victory over fellow Pro V1x golf ball loyalist Brian Stuard in a rain-delayed 29-hole Sunday finish in Mayakoba, Mexico … Titleist Brand Ambassador Jason Bohn was among three players who tied for third place another shot back … English topped a leaderboard that included eight Titleist golf ball loyalists among the 11 who finished in the top 10 and ties … He moved into contention when he matched the lowest score of his tour career with a second round 62, finishing with a 21-under 263 victory total … English won the FedEx St. Jude Classic in June for his first career PGA Tour title … Titleist golf ball loyalists have won five of the first six events on the PGA TOUR’s new 2013-14 wraparound season.

ASIAN TOUR:  Wen-Chong Liang (Pro V1x) won the inaugural Resorts World Manila Masters for his third career Asian Tour title … Liang birdied the first hole of a sudden death playoff with Prom Meesawat (Pro V1x, 909H hybrid, new MB Irons, Vokey Design sand and lob wedges) … The pair finished regulation on 16-under par 272 … Meesawat fired a final round 7-under 65 to tie overnight leader Liang who closed with a 69 … Liang donated half of his $135,000 winner’s check to the relief efforts for victims of the recent Typhoon Haiyan that struck the southern part of the country … Seven of the 11 players who finished among the top 10 and ties relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.
