Product Review: Nike Method MOD 90

Nike Golf is taking a page from history and updating it with all the best today has to offer.

Question: Have you ever thought about how well you used to play with your old equipment and wonder what it would have been like to play with today’s technology back then? While I doubt anyone would willingly go back to the small, wooden driver heads off the tee, putting is a different story.

Question: Do you remember how popular the Bullseye putter was? That simple design seemingly made its way into every bag a few decades ago. Sadly, technology left it in the past. If there was only a company willing to mesh the best of both past with present ...

Enter the aforementioned Nike Golf with the Method MOD series of putters. The MOD 30, 60 and 90 putters were inspired by the most popular putters of the past four decades, updated with modern technology to perform in today's game.

American Golfer tested the Method MOD 90.

What’s new?
* Balanced weight: This golf putter has less weight in the center and more weight distributed evenly in the heel and toe for a lower, deeper center of gravity.
* Truer roll: The multi-material face with Polymetal Groove technology allows you to lift the ball, launch it and turn it forward as quickly as possible for a truer, more consistent roll.
* Personalized feel: The distinctive 90° toe hang, determined by the weight location in relation to the head, offers a personalized feel for optimal forgiveness, roll and accuracy.

The benefits don’t end there. The precision CNC milled face provides premium performance, while a premium satin chrome finish offers durability and a clean look.

Upon first look, we immediately saw similarities with the Bullseye. Those began and ended with the thin profile and curved body. This is not your father’s (or grandfather’s) Bullseye. The MOD 90 boasts all the technology you could ever hope for on the green.

The weight distribution is evident and we’re big fans of the Polymetal Groove technology. The ball has a consistent feel off the face and the heel-to-toe weighting helps keep the face square at impact. Both have positive effects on the stroke.

A better stroke and better feel leads to more putts made by the Nike Method MOD 90. It’s a blast from the past with the added benefits of today’s technology.
