“With its majestic mountain backdrops and the quality of the golf holes, I believe in time Royal Park will be considered one of Europe’s best golf courses,” Fry said. “It is particularly special to us in that it was our first course in Europe.”
The beauty of Royal Park is partly attributable to several ponds and creeks, created for drainage and irrigation purposes as well as to add strategy to the layout. At 7,187 yards from the championship tees, Royal Park is a relatively flat open course. The views to the north of the mountains are especially dramatic. Royal Park is a private club, although guests are welcome to play with members and some outside events will be staged at the course. Virginia Costa, a Fry/Straka Global Golf Course Design associate based in Italy, contributed to the Royal Park design.
Royal Park I Roveri's striking location makes this golf course unique in Europe. Situated in La Mandria Park and surrounded by the Olympic Alps, Royal Park I Roveri is a stone’s throw from the Palace of Venaria, the largest of the Savoy residences. It is only about nine miles from the center of Turin and about six miles from the Turin-Caselle Airport.
The golf course inherited its name from the old Royal hunting reserve, harmoniously immersed in an ancient forest of great beauty. The club is a blend of metropolitan chic and the respectful, tranquil Savoy tradition. Attention to detail, personalized services for members and guests, and a wide range of relaxation and wellness options make Royal Park I Roveri a place of extraordinary excellence.
