Pound Ridge Golf Club Announces Brad Worthington as Director of Golf Operations

(POUND RIDGE, N.Y.) – Pound Ridge Golf Club – legendary Pete Dye’s modern marvel in Westchester County – announces acclaimed PGA Professional Brad Worthington as its new director of golf operations.

Coming off a successful 2019 golf season as director of golf instruction at Pound Ridge, Worthington will expand his role across the day-to-day golf operations at the premier public facility. This June, Pound Ridge will host the prestigious 73rd annual Metropolitan Golf Association Public Links Championship.

Worthington has long been recognized as one the leading golf instructors in the Northeast U.S. In 2016, he was named “Metropolitan Section PGA Professional of the Year.” Previously, he was director of golf at New York City’s Trump Golf Links as well as head golf professional at both Brooklawn Country Club (Fairfield, CT) and Atlantic Golf Club (Bridgehampton, N.Y.).

“Brad’s vast expertise and industry experience will help further our position as one of the top public golf facilities in the region,” says Ken Wang, owner of Pound Ridge. “He will not only continue to help foster our commitment to excellence in golf instruction, he will additionally be instrumental in our ongoing quest to provide our guests with a pure top-level golf experience on Pete Dye’s only design in the state of New York.”

Worthington additionally served on the PGA National Diversity Committee in 2009 and 2010. He currently serves as facilities advisor for the First Tee of Connecticut. He is a longtime contributor to GOLF Channel, Sirius XM, PGA Magazine and The Met Golfer. Worthington has been honored 11 times by Golf Digest in its annual “Best in State” instructor rankings.

Pound Ridge is carved from 172 acres of beautiful countryside – including dramatic cliffs, streams and wooded, rolling hills into a fun and challenging par-72 course. The course features five sets of tees ranging from 5,151 to 7,165 yards providing challenges and fun for golfers of all skill levels. Among its unforgettable holes is the dramatic par-5 13th which is home to “Pete’s Rock,” a giant boulder that rests in the middle of the fairway.
