PGA Golf Club Earns 2020 Platinum Award from Association of Golf Merchandisers

(PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.) – PGA Golf Club – the PGA of America’s premier 54-hole facility – received the Platinum Award from the Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) for the fifth straight year.

The award showcases clubs and facilities with the most creative and innovative retail accomplishments, and successful initiatives that enhance customer relationships and experiences. Entries were judged on various categories including creative ideas, revenue-generating initiatives, promotions and visual displays.

PGA Golf Club officials were bestowed the 2020 Platinum Award at the recent AGM Annual Retail Conference in Orlando.

“We are grateful the Association of Golf Merchandisers presented us with their Platinum Award for 2020,” says Jeremy Wiernasz, PGA Golf Club General Manager and Director of Golf. “Our staff is extremely proud of receiving this award for the past five years, as they continue to do an incredible job of providing the top brands and merchandise in an attractive arrangement.”

PGA Golf Club’s golf shop supplies apparel for men, women and juniors from major manufacturers. The golf shop also is stocked with accessories, gift items and resort wear adorned with the PGA Golf Club logo, with state-of-the-art display enhancers and lighting to ensure merchandise is visually appealing.

“We enjoy creating dazzling and vibrant displays and presentations throughout the golf shop that highlight a season or special event, and showcase the latest fashion trends,” says PGA Golf Club Head Golf Professional Holly Taylor, who was recognized by the South Florida PGA Section as its Merchandiser of the Year in the Resort category. “Nearly every guest at PGA Golf Club enters our golf shop, and we strive to make their visit a memorable and pleasing experience.”

The AGM is an international, professional association of golf-related merchandisers and vendors. Members include golf professionals, buyers, merchandisers, students, club managers, owners and suppliers to the golf industry. Headquartered in Arizona, the AGM is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation founded in 1989, and governed by a 19-member volunteer Board of Directors.

Known as the “Ultimate Golf Destination,” PGA Golf Club is home to three championship golf courses designed by renowned architects Tom Fazio and Pete Dye.

Later this year, PGA Golf Club will host the Boys and Girls Junior PGA Championships. The Boys Junior PGA Championship will be contested July 13–16; the Girls Junior PGA Championship will follow on July 28–31. Each event features 144 players in a four-round, 18-hole, stroke-play format.

In 2021, PGA Golf Club will host the PGA Professional Championship on the Wanamaker and Ryder Courses. The Championship will be comprised of players who advance from the 41 PGA Section Championships, along with past champions, competing to finish in the top 20 in order to secure a spot in the PGA Championship. All four rounds will be broadcast live on Golf Channel.

PGA Golf Club also continues to stockpile awards recognizing its golf experience. Earlier this year, Golfweek recognized the Dye and Wanamaker Courses among the top resort courses in the country. In 2019, all three courses made Golfweek’s list of “Best State-by-State Courses You Can Play” for Florida.
