SwingThought.com Tour, the only tour the BMW Charity Pro-Am will award exemptions to in 2015, continues to provide players with the most opportunity for advancement
(Greer, S.C.) - The SwingThought.com Tour announced that the Web.com Tour’s BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation has granted four of its seven unrestricted exemptions to the SwingThought.com Tour, formerly the NGA/Hooters Tour, for the upcoming 2015 season. The four exemptions will be awarded on a yet-to-be-determined competitive basis.
The SwingThought.com Tour was granted exemptions into the 2014 and 2013 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation as well. The 2014 exemption was won by SwingThought.com Tour Player of the Year Dominic Bozzelli. The former Auburn star turned the start into a T9 finish, thus earning a second consecutive start, and eventually a 139th place on the Web.com Tour season ending money list.
Since the start of the 2010 season, the SwingThought.com Tour has been granted thirty-six (36) Major event exemptions, the most by any developmental tour. In 2013 the PGA TOUR’s Reno-Tahoe Open and Sanderson Farms Championship each awarded the SwingThought.com Tour event exemptions, the first time a developmental tour had received two such exemptions from two separate events.
“Anytime we can provide our players with an opportunity to advance their careers, it is a win-win for all involved,” explained SwingThought.com Tour President Robin L. Waters, “We pride ourselves on being the top developmental tour in the US and being able to offer this opportunity, to not just one but to four of our players, shows that we are more committed now than ever to the development of our professionals. We cannot thank the BMW Charity Pro-Am enough for this opportunity and their belief in our tour as the top place for talent to develop as they prepare to compete at golf’s highest levels. Being able to compete against some of the best players in the world, on one of the biggest stages in the world as provided by the BMW Charity Pro-Am, is an invaluable experience guaranteed to help any young professional as they look to advance their career. We look forward to a successful partnership and a strong showing by our members in this year’s event.”
If history is any indicator, SwingThought.com Tour players will have plenty to say about the final outcome at the 2015 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation. The field at the 2014 event was filled with current and past SwingThought.com players including 4-time 2014 SwingThought.com Tour winner Dominic Bozzelli. In addition to Bozzelli, 2012 SwingThought.com Tour co-Rookie of the Year Jonathan Randolph finished in solo 2nd while 2013 SwingThought.com Tour Player of the Year Jon Curran and Rookie of the Year Blayne Barber finished tied for 3rd.
Bozzelli’s fellow 2014 SwingThought.com members Justin Lower and David Skinns finished tied for 9th. In fact SwingThought.com Tour alums have won the event an astounding 16 times in the 23 year history of the tournament with Mark Anderson (2013), Nick Flanagan (2012 & 2007), Garth Mulroy (2011), and Justin Hicks (2010) being the most recent.
The 2015 BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation will take place May 14-17 at Thornblade Club, The Reserve at Lake Keowee and Green Valley Country Club.
