2015 U.S. Open Championship is now connected to the ALS Challenge
(MEDIA ALERT) - Robert Trent Jones, Jr. not only accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Labor Day weekend, he issued the challenge to USGA executive director Mike Davis and president Tom O’Toole, as well as Major Dan Rooney, as the golfing world celebrated Rooney’s annual Patriot Golf Day golf event.
Jones wisely chose to accept the ALS Challenge in the warmth of Kauai, Hawaii, at The Prince Course he designed for Princeville. As the video shows, Jones’ initial comment to the icy dousing was simply, “Ahhhhhhhhhh!” – and he hopes Davis, O’Toole and Rooney will “enjoy” the challenge just as heartily.
Jones was issued the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge from the staff at RTJII-designed Chambers Bay in Washington, host of the 2015 U.S. Open Championship.
