Golf Channel Posts Highest-Rated PGA Championship Week in Network History

Golf Channel Digital and Golf Live Extra Mirror Success with Records for All Key Metrics

(ORLANDO, Fla.) – A thrilling finish to the 2014 major championship season which featured Rory McIlroy’s down-to-the-wire victory over Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler propelled Golf Channel to its highest-rated PGA Championship Week in network history.

Golf Channel dedicated more than 50 hours of news coverage, discussion, feature stories and instruction, highlighted by Live From the PGA Championship and Morning Drive, which resulted in a six percent, year-over-year ratings increase for the week and a .12 household coverage rating. PGA Championship Week on Golf Channel also averaged in excess of 100,000 viewers per minute and saw 7.3 million unique viewers tuning into the network’s coverage throughout the week.

Coming off a record July that set all-time highs in every key metric for any month on record, GolfChannel.com continued its momentum by also achieving its best PGA Championship Week ever with 1.74 million uniques (+25% YOY), 15.24 million page views, (+32% YOY), and 947k video starts (+128% YOY). GolfChannel.com’s 15.24 million page views marks its best week in 2014, and is the second best week ever on record (#1 – 2013 U.S. Open week). In addition, Golf Channel Mobile App had its best week ever on record for page views (13.18 million, +23% YOY), and Golf Live Extra posted bests ever for starts, uniques and visits for streaming of Golf Central’s Live From programming.
