(HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.) – Linda Hartough, world-renowned golf-landscape artist (www.hartough.com), will have an exclusive exhibition of her work April 10-20 at Karis Art Gallery in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The exhibit will take place the week before and during the RBC Heritage, a PGA Tour event to be played April 17-20 at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C.
“It will be a pleasure to show my work again this year at Karis Art Gallery, while so many golf devotees will be in town for the RBC Heritage, a popular PGA Tour event,” Hartough said. “The beautiful gallery setting is perfect for displaying some of my select giclée and canvas prints.”
Hartough’s painting style, a classic and elegant rendering of famous golf holes, reveals her attention to detail and realistic perspective, and captures the dramatic mood and natural beauty of each landscape.
Among the works to be displayed at Karis Art Gallery is Hartough’s newest, The 9th Hole, Pinehurst No. 2, in commemoration of the 2014 U.S. Opens. This painting represents the 25th and last work in Hartough’s U.S. Open series as commissioned by the United States Golf Association.
Included in this special exhibit at Karis Art Gallery will be the following works by Hartough:
* The 18th Hole, Harbour Town Golf Links, textured canvas print; image size 17”x36”
* The Swilcan Bridge, The Old Course, St Andrews, canvas giclée print; image size 17”x36”
* The 13th Hole, “Azalea,” Augusta National Golf Club – super-size canvas giclée print; image size 36”x60”
* The 9th Hole, Pinehurst No. 2, 2014 U.S. Open Championships – canvas giclée print; image size 21”x36”
“After two years of representation, I am still in awe of Linda’s golf landscapes,” said Maggie Karis, owner of Karis Art Gallery. “The light and detail captured in her paintings can quite possibly be matched only by standing in the scene in person.”
