(HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA) – Srixon and Cleveland Golf congratulate staffer Rick Lamb for his dramatic victory over the weekend at the Web.com Tour LECOM Health Challenge at Peek’n Peak Resort’s Upper Course in Clymer, New York. Playing in only his third Web.com Tour event of the season, the 25-year-old Lamb qualified for the four-man, sudden-death playoff on the strength of a 9-under-par 63 in the final round. Then, on the second playoff hole, the par-5 18th, he chipped in for birdie from the back of the green for the win.
“It just hasn’t set in yet,” said Lamb, a left-handed player who only had conditional Web.com Tour status coming into the LECOM Health Challenge. “Everything happened so quickly. It’s just one of those days where everything went my way. It couldn’t have turned out any better.”
Lamb, who finished regulation at 19-under par, made history by becoming the first Web.com Tour player since 2014 to win after qualifying for the event on Rick LambMonday. He shot a 9-under-par 63 on Peek’n Peak’s Lower Course to earn a spot in the field.
A native of South Bend, Indiana, who finished second at the 2013 NCAA Championships for the University of Tennessee, Lamb called this victory “completely life-changing.” He took home the $108,000 first-place check and vaulted to No. 21 on the money list, putting himself in position to gain PGA TOUR status at season’s end.
