Fourteen Golf RM-12 Wedge Honored on 2013 Golf Digest 'Hot List'

(IRVINE, CA) - FOURTEEN GOLF, a global leader in wedge and iron design with over 48 professional tour victories, announced that the company's PGA Tour proven RM-12 Wedge received a silver ranking on the highly sought-after 2013 Golf Digest "Hot List."

This is the fourth time FOURTEEN GOLF has been honored by making the Golf Digest "Hot List."

According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, "Each and every time we're included on this selective list of golf equipment the Company feels privileged. It validates the performance characteristics of the RM-12 but it also adds credibility to the engineering crew, to the PGA and LPGA Tour team as well as assists our sales force. We thank the scientists, retailers, players and judges for recognizing the benefits of the RM-12 Wedge."

Within the "Look / Sound / Feel" category, the RM-12 Wedge received one of the highest ranking of the test - four and half stars. Player comments supported this rating, "A very soft feel. I could hit low chips that spin with ease" ... "There's no vibration when you hit the ball. It consistently gives that thump sound out of the sand" ... "A clean and elegant design."

The RM-12 Wedge not only is a high performance, tour inspired wedge but it is aesthetically stunning. The combination of its curves, classic styling and nickel chrome non-plated half matte finish make it one of the most beautiful wedges on the market. Again, player comments support the RM-12 Wedge, "It gets all the little things right. And it does so with a shape that stays classic while breaking new-ground."

FOURTEEN GOLF knows the importance of the short game. The company has garnered a reputation throughout the world as being the preeminent wedge designer. The new RM-12 Wedge and 2013 Golf Digest "Hot List" verifies it.

"The RM-12 Wedges are amazing! I always have great control from any lie which allows me to make the shot I want every time," stated John Mallinger, PGA Professional and FOURTEEN GOLF Pro Staffer.

This tour inspired, high performance wedge features the same large trapezoidal grooves as its predecessor, the RM 11-Wedge. These expanded grooves impart exceptional spin and rotational speed as the RM acronym implies - "Revolution per Minute." These uniquely shaped trapezoidal grooves have been enlarged by 15% as compared to other FOURTEEN GOLF wedges. This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots. In addition, these high quality grooves perform well in both dry and wet conditions.

"We believe that our exclusive, signature, larger grooves contributed to be included in this year's 'Hot List.' They provide maximum spin with exceptional control and their following on the PGA Tour is imposing but the new sole designs also captured the judge's attention," added Kamoda.

The 2013 Golf Digest "Hot List" award winning RM-12 Wedge and its sole design differ greatly from the original RM-11 Wedge. Tour players like to create different shots using the same wedge so the engineers rounded the toe and heel area on the H-Sole available on the 48-degree to 58-degree models and actually removed the back portion of the sole. These modifications allow golfers to open and close the face, promoting a variety of shots.

"I love the RM-12 Wedges. The workability of these wedges is unbelievable," said Arjun Atwal, PGA Professional and FOURTEEN GOLF Pro Staffer.

For the 60-degree RM-12 Wedge, the design team implemented a T-Sole, also known as a Twin Sole. A distinct ridge in the middle portion of the sole allows the club to get through any type of lie easily as the leading edge is able to slide under the club effortlessly. Additionally, when the club face is open, the back portion of the sole encourages the ball to pop up with the perfect amount of spin.

The leading edge on the RM-12 Wedge appears relatively straight, but it is slightly rounded. This modest curve was implemented for visual purposes. Golfers can see how to get under the ball or chip it easily.

FOURTEEN GOLF used a forged nickel chrome molybdenum bronze on the RM-12 head because of its durability and resistance to wear. This highly specialized material allows the high quality, high performance trapezoidal grooves to stay in perfect condition which ensures optimum performance.

Touring Professionals appreciated the company's original "reverse taper design" so the engineers used it as a platform but increased the weight distribution on the upper blade to create a "reverse muscle design." In effect, the weight is perfectly proportioned on the blade and club head which creates stability through impact.

The new RM-12 Wedges will be shipping into retail on April 1, 2013 with a MSR of $185.00. They will be available in one of the distinguished dealers that carry FOURTEEN GOLF including; golf specialty stores like Roger Dunn, Golfers Warehouse, Golf Mart, Vans and more.
