Stonebridge Golf Club to Host 2021 U.S. Amateur Qualifier

(ROME, Ga.)
– Stonebridge Golf Club – featuring the storied city of Rome-owned and Arthur Davis-designed layout one-hour northwest of Atlanta – has been selected to host a U.S. Amateur Qualifying event from July 20 - 21, 2021.

It will be the first time Stonebridge Golf Club has hosted a qualifier for the U.S. Amateur. The USGA had a select group of courses in mind and chose Stonebridge because of their past success in creating a championship environment.

“We are honored to be selected as a host site for such a prestigious championship,” says Patrick Kirn, general manager of Stonebridge Golf Club. “The U.S. Amateur includes the best young talent from around the country and Stonebridge will be ready to greet those young men and showcase the same quality layout the USGA saw when bestowing this honor.”

In 2020, Stonebridge was ranked as the No. 5 best bargain in golf by Golf Channel’s Golf Pass. It was praised for its excellent pace of play, impeccable conditions, fast greens and affordability.

“We have worked extremely hard to create a facility our local community can be proud of. So much so, the USGA has taken notice,” continues Kirn. “Hosting a U.S. Amateur qualifier is the culmination of those efforts and we hope to continue welcoming championship-level golf in the near future.”

Opened in 1994, Stonebridge Golf Club was built by the city of Rome and remains one of northern Georgia’s most beloved modern golf courses. The 18-hole public layout measures 6,816 yards and encompasses the spacious clubhouse, allowing for gorgeous views of the Lavender Mountains and abundant wildlife. Five sets of tees accommodate players of all skill levels.
