(CARLSBAD, Calif.) – In just his third start with his PGA TOUR card, Lucas Herbert claimed his first career PGA TOUR victory with a Sunday 69 amongst fierce weather conditions at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Lucas entered Sunday four strokes off the lead, but battled a weather delayed final round to finish 70-65-65-69 and claim his third victory worldwide.
After earning his PGA TOUR card through the Korn Ferry Tour Finals earlier this year, the 25-year old Australian used the all-new Milled Grind 3 wedges and 2021 TP5 golf ball to secure his maiden PGA TOUR win. It marks his second win of the 2021 calendar year with a victory at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in July.
· Uniquely, Lucas does not game a 5-iron under the premise that he can hit all the shots and distances he needs without it, allowing him to make better use of an extra wedge for the bottom of the bag and versatility at the top to fill the gap between the longest iron and first wood
· Lucas has the exact same lie angle of 58 degrees in every iron and wedge in the bag
· With today's win, Lucas earns a two year PGA TOUR exemption and entry into the Sentry Tournament of Champions in January at Kapalua
· He is the second Australian male to win individual titles on both the European Tour and the PGA TOUR in the same year (Adam Scott, 2008)
