Golf Icon Nancy Lopez Joins NextLinks Board of Directors


Lopez will work with the company to help grow the game of golf.

(SAN DIEGO, CA.) – NextLinks, a new revolution in indoor golf, today announced that golf great Nancy Lopez has agreed to join the NextLinks board of directors effective today. 

“We are delighted to have Nancy join our illustrious board of directors,” said NextLinks CEO Dan Mechem. “Her extraordinary career speaks for itself, and she is surely one the most beloved players in golf history, male or female. She is an outstanding addition to our board and will have a profound impact on our company’s mission to encourage women and minorities to learn golf in the comfort and ease of our NextLinks eGolf arenas worldwide.”

Over the course of her career, from 1977 to 2003, Lopez won 48 LPGA tournaments. The Mexican American Hall of Famer is still a role model for not only females but minority golfers as well. A women’s golf icon, Lopez is also a four-time Rolex Player of the Year. She was inducted into the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame in 1987 and captained the victorious 2005 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Lopez is the founder of Nancy Lopez Golf, which provides golf clubs and a clothing line of golf clothing for women. She is also the founder of the Nancy Lopez Golf Adventures: NLGA.

Lopez hosts an annual golf tournament to benefit the charity AIM (Adventures in Movement), an organization that helps mentally challenged, visually impaired, hearing impaired, physically handicapped, and other children and adults with special needs. She has hosted the tournament since 1981 and serves as a national ambassador with AIM.
