Collin Morikawa Claims DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai Title

Team TaylorMade’s Collin Morikawa rounded off a sensational year by claiming a three-shot victory in Dubai

(Carlsbad, Calif.) – Collin Morikawa outran a crowded leaderboard shooting a superb back nine 31 on Sunday to become the first American to win the Race to Dubai. With all four rounds in the 60’s (68-68-69-66) Collin’s superior ball striking and clutch putting saw him play the final 7 holes in 5-under par.

NEED TO KNOW

- Collin entered the Race to Dubai finale at the top of the rankings but had five players who could have overtaken him in Dubai

- Morikawa showed his competitive prowess to shoot a final round 66, including 5 birdies in the last 7 holes to pull away from the field

- He is only the fourth player to win both the DP World Championship and Race to Dubai in the same year and the first American to win the Race to Dubai

- In just under two-and-a-half years as a professional, Collin has already won two Major Championships and a WGC title. He can now add a Rolex Series DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai title to his trophy cabinet

- Team TaylorMade Athletes battled it out at the top of the leaderboard all week, with four out of the top eight being part of Team TaylorMade

- Team TaylorMade Athletes claimed both titles this weekend, with Brendan Lawlor claiming the EDGA Dubai Finale yesterday
