(PHILADELPHIA, Pa.) — The Traveling Golfer has been telling great stories for a number of years. Great golf courses to play. Great golf destinations to visit.
But the June episode of the Traveling Golfer television show may tell the greatest story of all It is the Great American Success Story.
It is the story of Sal and Maria Lapio, who married at a young age in Italy then came to the United States. Through hard work that began as a laborer, Sal created a successful home-building business. Then, after being bitten by the golf bug, he bought his first golf course – Mainland GC in Harleysville, PA. Shortly after, he built and developed Bella Vista GC in Gilbertsville, PA. He completed the golf triathlon by purchasing Morgan Hill GC in Easton, PA.
And he did this without any background in the golf industry.
Now his businesses are run by his two daughters – Linda Nace and Rosann Lapio – and he stands proud over his accomplishments. Deservedly.
For all of those reasons, the story of three courses – Mainland, Bella Vista and Morgan Hill – has been woven into this Great American Success Story and will be featured in the June episode of the Traveling Golfer television show.
“This show is one that I have wanted to do for a long time,” explains Traveling Golfer host Tony Leodora. “I have marveled at the ingenuity and perseverance of the entire Lapio family as they have successfully turned around the fortunes of two golf courses, along with building a highly regarded third course. And they did all of this at a time that the golf industry was struggling.”
As boxing promoter Don King would say, “Only in America.”
“I’ve never been afraid to try anything,” explains Sal Lapio, in his typically soft-spoken manner. “I know it drives my family crazy sometimes … but I think we’ve done OK.”
The June episode of The Traveling Golfer airs as a scheduled weekly feature show on NBC Sports and NBC Sports + throughout four markets in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. NBC Sports airings are 10:30 a.m. on Sundays, 10:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and 11 a.m. on Thursdays. NBC Sports + airs the show at 8 p.m. Mondays and Fridays. In addition, the show airs nationally, every day, on the new Fun Roads Network (funroads.tv/schedule) – in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Wichita and Detroit markets. It also will air a number of times in the Month of June on “Rivertalk” on HTC-4 in Myrtle Beach.
As part of every Traveling Golfer show there is the additional feature, "Tech Talk", hosted by Tour Edge Golf experts, such as President Dave Glod. With years of experience as a club maker, Glod presents an inside look at the research and development of high-quality golf equipment.
Responding to golfers' never-ending demands to learn more about interesting golf courses and golf resorts across the country and around the world, well-traveled host Tony Leodora created the Traveling Golfer so he could take viewers on video trips to some of the most exciting golf locations. For the fourth time in five years, the show was honored as the No. 1 Golf Television Show in America in the prestigious International Network of Golf awards, presented at the PGA Merchandise Show in January of 2020.
The Traveling Golfer is a series of monthly shows hosted by Leodora, who has 19 years of experience in televised golf. The featured destination stays on the website for one month, before being replaced by a new show. Alternate shows also air in a two-month rotation. All old shows are archived for continued viewing on the YouTube Network and on the home website, www.travelinggolfervideo.com.

Thank you for telling about such interesting places. I always liked hotels with traditions. My daughter get married soon. It has a non-standard orientation so I'm looking for a place where tolerantly belong to LGBT weddings. Daughter found a couple for himself communicating LesbieMates. I am glad to see her happy and make everything to be chic.
