Bacheldor Receives the PGA of America’s Highest Educational Achievement

University of Colorado-Colorado Springs PGA Golf Management University Program Director Earns PGA Master Professional Designation

(PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.) – The PGA of America has announced that University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) PGA Golf Management University Program Director Mark Bacheldor, PGA, has earned PGA Master Professional status, the highest educational designation that can be obtained by a PGA Member.

Bacheldor, a graduate of the PGA Golf Management Program at UCCS, joins an elite group of over 400 PGA Professionals who have earned PGA Master Professional status. Bacheldor achieved his PGA Master Professional designation in Teaching and Coaching.

The PGA Master Professional Program (MPP 2.0) is available to any PGA Professional who has achieved advanced certification through the PGA Certified Professional Program, which was launched in 2004. The curriculum is comprised of an extensive project, based on the specific certification previously acquired by the PGA Professional. Upon approval of the project and successful completion of a presentation, a PGA Member will earn the prestigious PGA Master Professional status. To be eligible, the PGA Master Professional Program requires a minimum of 10 years of PGA Membership.

“Being a PGA Member remains one of my proudest aspects of my life,” said Bacheldor, a PGA Member for 11 years. “Having now reached the highest designation of the Association has been a dream long in the making. I am honored to have earned this designation and hope to use the knowledge I gained from it to positively impact the students of the PGA Golf Management Program at UCCS.”

Committed to ongoing education, Bacheldor is a Certified PGA Professional in Golf Operations and Teaching & Coaching. He was recognized as the 2016 Colorado PGA Section Horton Smith Award winner for his many contributions to the education of PGA Professionals. Prior to his current role, Bacheldor served as PGA Head Golf Professional at Eisenhower Golf Club at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He managed and supervised the daily operations of the No. 1 ranked golf course in the Department of Defense.

The PGA Master Professional Program (MPP 2.0) was established in 1969 to recognize PGA Members who have made a significant effort to improve as golf professionals and maintain the highest degree of excellence for themselves and their operations. As part of its Member education curriculum, the PGA MPP 2.0 program was designed to ensure PGA Professionals are prepared to meet the growing demands of the marketplace.
