(Jupiter, Florida) - ARGOLF putters are a fine blend of finesse, technological precision and top performance. Representing a high-tech approach to developing golf clubs, ARGOLF combines design and technology with Siemens software to achieve precision and quality. By capitalizing on its aeronautical expertise, the company is able to produce one of the finest putters available to players of all levels.
ARGOLF was founded in 2010 by two French aeronautical industrialists, brothers Olivier and Sébastien Colas. The brothers were currently both executives at Armor Meca – a family owned company that services and manufactures components for the aeronautics, defense, submarine, food and medical industries including NASA, Airbus, Stelia, Safran and Zodiac Aerospace. Both avid golfers, the Colas brothers decided to capitalize on their aeronautical expertise and create a putter for their own individual use. It proved to be too successful to keep for their own personal use.
"We benefited from long-standing expertise in the machining of aeronautical components, modern production techniques and a research department that used Siemens' integrated, high-performance CAD and CAM software solutions," explains Olivier Colas, Founder of ARGOLF. “We designed and manufactured the first putters by drawing on our working methods and tools, both in terms of design and production. It proved to be an immediate success. That's how the idea of creating our own brand came about, one that would combine design and high technology with an ongoing concern for precision and quality."
To set itself apart in an industry dominated by large brands, ARGOLF employs a differentiation strategy to leverage the expertise in machining complex aeronautical components from Armor Meca. ARGOLF putters far exceed the quality and design of other putters on the market with the best materials and processes such as titanium, integral machining and anodic oxidation in sulfuric acid – an advanced technique used in the aerospace industry to diffuse the reflection of light that would otherwise disturb the golfer about to putt. These innovations are backed up by ARGOLF patents, such as its C-Claw grooves, which offer players great precision and stability when putting.
Colas explains, “ARGOLF putters are precisely milled from one solid piece of metal. Major brands mass produce with an oversize cast mold and then mill the face for grooves and other aesthetics. By doing so, you lose the feel and consistency in your product. To avoid this, there is no post-manufacturing handwork done to our product. How they come off the machinery is how they are sold – finish, grooves and all - straight from the milling process versus being done afterwards.”
Using Siemens PLM Software solutions, ARGOLF has been able to digitalize the manufacturing process. Combining the capabilities of powerful modeling methods from Siemens and the advanced machining and metal coating techniques of Amor Meca, ARGOLF is able to produce a putter that is like no other.
"Herein lies the key to our success," says Olivier Colas. "By opting for Siemens’ solutions, we now benefit from very fast design modifications and machine cycles. Robotized production lines also increase our productivity, precision and consistency."
Using Siemen’s integrated end-to-end solutions to digitalize the production process, ARGOLF has been able to reduce reprogramming times for design modifications and improve efficiency and productivity. Overall, the partnership between Siemens and ARGOLF has helped to produce putters of the highest quality at an impressive rate to meet the demands of the United State, South Korea, Japan and Australia. As the brand grows in popularity, these mechanisms will further help deploy its first-class product further across the globe.
