Thorbjorn Olesen Storms to Victory at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

Olesen secured the biggest win of his career on the Old Course at St. Andrews

(RELEASE) - Nike athlete Thorbjorn Olesen dug deep when it mattered most on Sunday to secure the biggest win of his career at The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on The Old Course in St Andrews in Scotland.

The 25-year-old’s putting had been one of the highlights of his first three rounds at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and St Andrews, and he made the best possible start with a birdie up the first in his final round.

A trio of dropped shots in the next two holes pegged him back before Olesen yet again found his touch with his Nike Method 001 Proto putter and recorded back-to-back birdies.

Nine pars followed before the Denmark native holed a spectacular 50-foot birdie putt on the 15th to give himself a two-shot lead which he never surrendered to the chasing pack. He eventually finished 18-under-par, having recorded 25 birdies over the four days of tournament play.

Olesen’s fine work on the greens was made possible through his ball-striking tee-to-green, and he utilized both the Nike Vapor Pro driver and Nike Vapor Pro irons to good effect.
