Course Designer Jay Blasi Launches Own Golf Architecture Firm

(LOS GATOS, CA) - Rising golf course architect Jay Blasi recently opened his own golf architecture firm, Jay Blasi Design (www.jayblasi.com). The Los Gatos, California based firm is dedicated to restoring, renovating and creating timeless golf courses around the world and has already commenced work on several projects throughout the United States.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, Jay Blasi is guiding a bunker renovation at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, Calif., and has been tapped to serve as consulting architect at Palo Alto Hills Golf & Country Club. In addition, Blasi continues to work with the San Francisco Public Golf Alliance (SFPGA) in its efforts to protect and restore the historic Sharp Park Golf Course, an Alister MacKenzie-designed municipal layout that meets the Pacific Coast in Pacifica, Calif.

Blasi is also returning to his home state of Wisconsin to lead a major golf course renovation at SentryWorld in Stevens Point. Here Blasi will serve as the project architect working in collaboration with Robert Trent Jones II, SentryWorld's original designer.

Prior to starting his own firm, the 34-year-old Blasi spent 11 years at Robert Trent Jones II, LLC, where he oversaw numerous renovations and expansions of existing RTJII courses. Blasi showcased his own vision and design talents serving as project architect on three new layouts; top-ranked Chambers Bay in Washington (site of the 2010 U.S. Amateur and 2015 U.S. Open); Stanford University's Siebel Varsity Golf Training Complex; and The Patriot, a nationally-ranked course in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

"It was Jay's passion and vision that transformed our Oklahoma ranchland into a top-50 modern course," said U.S. Air Force Maj. Dan Rooney, developer of The Patriot Golf Club and Founder of The Folds of Honor Foundation. "Jay went above and beyond providing us with the personal attention and dedication we desired. I'm confident his natural design talent and vibrant spirit will continue to captivate clients throughout the U.S. and eventually spanning the globe."
