Middle Atlantic PGA Brings Golf to the University of Maryland for Maryland Day

(Stafford, VA) - In support of the PGA of America's Golf 2.0 initiative, the Middle Atlantic PGA (MAPGA) is taking golf on campus at the University of Maryland on April 28, 2012. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the MAPGA will be a part of UMD's annual "Maryland Day" of festivities which attracts more than 60,000 attendees.

The MAPGA will have an inflatable golf tent set up on Hornbake Plaza where students, parents and family members alike can experience golf without actually being on a golf course. To enhance the experience, PGA Golf Professionals will also be on hand to promote the "fun factor" of golf and provide basic instruction.

"The time is now for the golf industry to think alternatively about bringing golf to the masses," says MAPGA Executive Director Jon Guhl. "Our relationship with Jeff Maynor, Head PGA Professional at the UMD Golf Course, has opened the door for us to take advantage of this great opportunity and reach a whole new group of potential golfers."
