The Concession Golf Club To Host IMG Junior Golf Tour Championship May 11-13

(SARASOTA, Fla.) - The Concession Golf Club will host the season-ending IMG Junior Golf Tour Championship May 11-13. A field comprised of 84 boys and girls from ages 11-18 will take to the award-winning course to compete for the IMG Tour's most coveted title.

The Concession, designed by Jack Nicklaus in association with Tony Jacklin, was named 'Best New Private Course of 2006' by Golf Digest. It has a slope rating of 155 from the championship tees, the highest rating by the United States Golf Association. The Concession also has one of the highest course ratings at 77.6.

The 18-hole par-72 golf course is set on 520 acres of ruggedly pristine land dotted with massive oaks and majestic pines unique to Florida. It totals 7,474 yards and runs three miles from tip to tip providing players with an uninterrupted golf experience abundant with wildlife and natural vegetation.

Complementing The Concession's championship layout is one of the world's largest private practice areas recognized by Golf Digest as one of the "75 Best Practice Areas in the United States." It includes a dual-ended driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area that allows one to practice any shot they might need, including pitch shots up to 80 yards.

"We are extremely delighted to host the IMG Junior Golf Tour's season-ending championship," said Bruce Cassidy Jr., General Manager of The Concession Golf Club. "The Concession golf course offers these young players a challenging test of golf to wrap up their season."

Official practice rounds for one of junior golf's most prestigious championships begin May 11, with the tournament running May 12-13. A season-ending awards banquet will also be held at The Concession and will be included in the tournament entry fee. All juniors may apply for the event - entry is granted via entry criteria posted on the tournament website (based largely on season points standings).

The Concession is hosting a number of other prestigious events this year, including the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship, Big Ten Match Play Championship and the AJGA Rolex Girls Junior Championship.
