Vaco Extends Brand Ambassador Partnership with Rising Golf Pro Dawson Armstrong

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.)
– Vaco, a global talent solutions firm, has extended its brand ambassador partnership with golf pro Dawson Armstrong for an additional three years. Vaco began sponsoring Armstrong in 2019; since then, Armstrong, an emerging talent in professional golf, has vaulted up the rankings on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Under the new agreement, Armstrong will continue to promote Vaco in the sports and business world by wearing the company’s logo on tour attire, promoting the Vaco brand on social media, and engaging with clients and candidates in company-sponsored initiatives. He will earn monetary bonuses for wins on the Korn Ferry Tour (and the PGA Tour should he attain PGA Tour status). Armstrong is also sponsored by Callaway Golf, Vineyard Vines and Simmons Bank.

“Continuing to partner with Vaco was an easy decision,” Armstrong said. “Their relationship-driven approach and team-player attitude aligns with my core values, both on and off the golf course. I am thrilled to continue working with the visionary Vaco team. They are exemplary in business and in life and are global leaders in helping companies succeed with the best talent available.”

Armstrong posted four top 10 and six top 25 finishes, in 43 Korn Ferry Tour starts across the 2020-21 season, which saw him finish at No. 54 in the regular season points standings. He logged a pair of podium finishes with a second-place tie at the 2021 LECOM Suncoast Classic and a third-place tie at the 2020 Wichita Open.

He started the 2022 season strong, finishing tied for 7th at 12-under par at The Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at The Abaco Club in late January.

“We are proud Dawson is part of the Vaco family, and are excited to continue our partnership with him,” said Brian Waller, CEO and co-founder of Vaco. “I knew from meeting Dawson that he was the right fit to represent our company – he is driven professionally, motivated to grow, passionate about people, and a natural leader. Not only is Dawson an accomplished golf pro, but he has also represented Vaco honorably as he continues to advance in his career. We wish him great success in the new golf season."

Armstrong qualified for the Korn Ferry tour in 2020, after playing for two seasons on the Mackenzie Tour. Armstrong had considerable success on the Mackenzie Tour, recording six top ten finishes over two years, winning the Windsor Championship in 2019, and ending the 2019 season 8th in the Tour’s Order of Merit. Armstrong has also played on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica since 2019, recording a top ten finish at the BMW Jamaica Classic that year. Since turning pro, Armstrong has earned nearly $300,000 in tournament winnings.

Armstrong, who lives in Ponte Vedra, Florida, was a star on the golf team at Lipscomb University, where he graduated with a business administration degree in 2018. During his tenure, his 71.20 scoring average set the lowest mark in school history – and he lowered his average each season, from 71.94 as a freshman to 70.26 as a senior. Armstrong won 10 tournament titles for the Bisons and set the record for being named the Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Week 13 times, breaking the record for most weekly awards of any sport in conference history.
