A Getaway to Better Golf is a Player's Dream at Forest Dunes

(Ypsilanti, Mich.) - Golf and Getaway. It's an ideal word pairing especially for those seeking a better and more enjoyable golf game.

Acclaimed PGA instructors Dave Kendall and Jack Seltzer have the answer to alleviating the pain of and disappointment of a sour golf game-for both serious and casual players alike. It's the Kendall/Seltzer Golf Getaway, a spring/summer roster of two-day Getaway Package sessions at highly acclaimed Forest Dunes Golf Club with its Tom Weiskopf Signature course and spacious 10-acre teaching and practice facility. The first session is set for June 11-12.

Kendall twice has been named Teacher of the Year by the Michigan PGA for his instruction at the Kendall Academy at the Miles of Golf in Ypsilanti. Seltzer has won every important championship in the state and was inducted into the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame last year. In addition to working with weekend golfers, they've taught and mentored competitive players from high school, college, mini-Tour and senior ranksBe. Together they've cleared more golf headaches than Alka-Seltzer.

This is the second year for the Kendall/Seltzer Golf School at Forest Dunes which delivers two days of instruction and golf amid tall pines, colorful hardwoods, and ponds in a pure Michigan getaway.

"Jack and I feel so fortunate to be returning to Forest Dunes this year," said Kendall, a two-time Michigan Senior Open champion. "Our students last year loved taking their game from the practice tee to the golf course, truly a bucket list experience."

The Weiskopf course has been described as a combination of Pine Valley and the Augusta National, two of the greatest courses in the game. Players have come from all over to test themselves at Forest Dunes, ranked No. 23 in Golf Digest's America's 100 Greatest Public Courses and No. 2 in Digest's Best Public Courses in Michigan.

The two-day Getaway Package includes accommodations in the new 14-room hotel, the Lake AuSable Lodge, as well as meals, practice facility usage, instruction on all the fundamentals from the full swing to the wedge game and an 18-hole round with one of the accomplished professionals. Depending on enrollment, other instructors may include Michigan Golf Hall of Fame member Lynn Janson and Frank McAuliffe, 2010 Golf Professional of the Year.

Kendall/Seltzer Getaway Packages are available throughout the spring and summer and range from $595 to $1195 depending on days of instruction. One day packages stressing the short game and putting will be available June, July and August.
