Advances to No. 71 in the country amongst Top 100 Resort Courses for 2013
(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) - Sandia Golf Club was honored as one of the Top 100 Resort Courses in The Country by Golfweek Magazine. This ranking that was published in Golfweek's Ultimate Guide to Golf Course Living and Great Escapes, placed Sandia at No. 71 in the country with an average course rating of 6.07. The Scott Miller-designed Sandia Golf Club advanced 29 spots moving up from their No. 100 ranking in 2012.
"We couldn't be more pleased about the Sandia Golf Club's inclusion in this prestigious Top 100 ranking," stated Dave Goff, Vice President of Operations for OB Sports Golf Management. "We can't recall when a club has made such a huge jump from one spot in the rankings. To move up 29 spots is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Sandia team ... from operations to agronomy. Their commitment to making the golf experience better for each and every guest is why the club is realizing this advancement in the rankings," added Goff.
The ranking was determined by Golfweek rating panelists who rate courses on the basis of 10 criteria including but not limited to: routing, quality of shaping, overall land plan, variety and memorability of par 3s, 4s and 5s, tree and landscape management, conditioning and ecology and the walk in the park test - the degree to which the course ultimately is worth spending a half-day on.
