(RELEASE) - Culminating the best season of his career, Dustin Johnson was named the 2016 PGA TOUR Player of the Year on Tuesday; the award is voted on by his fellow players on Tour.
During the 2015-'16 season, Johnson captured three wins on Tour, which included his first major championship at the U.S. Open at Oakmont. In his 22 starts this season, the 32-year-old Johnson carded a PGA TOUR best fifteen top-10 finishes en route to his rise to a career-high #2 in the OWGR.
Through the '15-'16 season, Johnson has claimed victory on the PGA TOUR in nine consecutive seasons, the longest current streak on Tour.
