Industry Veteran David Myers Joins Bourgeoning ClubSoft Team

(RALEIGH, N.C.) — ClubSoft North America, one of the country’s fastest-growing club management systems, announced today that it has added another industry veteran to its team, hiring David Myers as its St. Louis-based regional sales manager.

“I have known David for a couple of years and his reputation in the club industry is beyond reproach,” said ClubSoft CEO Ray McDonald. “To have someone of his caliber join our team is a true honor.”
Myers, 44, is a veteran of the club industry, starting as a golf professional at such clubs as Marriott Desert Springs Resort, La Quinta Resort and Club and The Club at PGA West in California, as well as Coeur d’Alene (Idaho) Resort Golf Course and Eugene (Ore.) Country Club.

After earning his Masters of Business Administration, Myers moved to the finance side of club operations, most recently serving as Controller at Claremont Country Club in Oakland, Calif., where Myers said he first became familiar with the ClubSoft product.

“When I looked at ClubSoft, it was the only one that to me appeared to be fully integrated,” Myers said. “With ClubSoft, I basically had one database to maintain and everything talked to one another from the Web site to the tee times to the dining reservations and it was all integrated. And I found ClubSoft was less expensive than what I was paying, plus there was no initial capital outlay to buy the software. If we signed up with ClubSoft and didn’t like it, there was nothing to keep us using their product, which really appealed to me.

“Once I installed ClubSoft and started using it I realize how user-friendly it was to do things. The other systems I used in the past were complicated and cumbersome. It was stable and it worked, but it was clunky.”

Previously, Myers also served two years as Controller for “The Donald” at Trump Florida Properties in West Palm Beach, Fla., during the time in which Trump got married and the club hosted events featuring performers such as Elton John and Alicia Keys.

Myers’ career also included military service during which among other things he served as Specialist E-4 team leader as an elite member of Echo Company “The Honor Guard” as a soldier in the 3rd U.S. Infantry, “The Old Guard”— the Army’s Official Ceremonial Unit and Escort to the President of the United States and serving as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

ClubSoft was built on a strategy of allowing clubs the option of dealing with one vendor for the “In box to tee box” solutions for automation. The company offers the most powerful club accounting and POS system available and is a leader in the private social network and reservation system.
“I’ve gone from being a club controller to being someone who is a solutions provider to clubs,” Myers said. “I know from experience that the controller has to learn each piece of the operation.”
