(MURRELLS INLET, S.C.) — Golf Digest has ranked Allen Terrell, the director of instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School, among “The Best Teachers In Your State, 2022-2023” extending his run of accolades.
Golf Digest ranked Terrell among golf-rich South Carolina’s best instructors, and he was the Myrtle Beach area’s highest rated teacher.
“There are as many great teachers in South Carolina as there is any state in America, so to be ranked among the Palmetto State’s best is a tremendous honor,” Terrell said. “Here at the Dustin Johnson Golf School, our goal is to create a plan to help each individual golfer - whether they are on the PGA Tour or a newcomer to the game - play to the best of their ability, and it’s rewarding to see that effort recognized by Golf Digest.”
Earlier this year, Terrell was named one of “GOLF’s Top 100 Teachers in America,” and he won the 2020 Palmer Maples Teacher of the Year Award, the Carolinas PGA section’s highest instructional honor.
Terrell, who helped Johnson develop from an under-recruited college player into the world’s best golfer, helps players at all levels of the game hone their skills. From the thriving kids program he launched at the Dustin Johnson Golf School to competitive juniors and professional golfers, Terrell’s approach to instruction has helped countless players improve their game.
Under his guidance, the Dustin Johnson Golf School has quickly emerged as one of the nation’s premier teaching facilities, highlighted by one of the fastest growing junior programs in the southeast.
Terrell has also been instrumental in the development of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship. In just six years, the 54-hole, college style event has grown into one of the world’s best junior tournaments, attracting one of the strongest fields in youth golf.
