Outlyr Taps Jeremy Friedman For New Role as Director of Public Relations and Marketing

(GREENWICH, Conn.) – Longtime Golf Channel and NBC Sports communications professional Jeremy Friedman has been named to the newly created position of director of public relations and marketing for Outlyr (formerly Eiger Marketing Group), a global sports, event management and lifestyle marketing agency.

In this newly created role, Friedman will lead strategic communications and marketing initiatives for Outlyr and its 11 owned-and-operated golf tournaments, which includes nine LPGA Tour events, the Chubb Classic on the PGA TOUR Champions and the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Friedman will be based out of Orlando, Fla.

“Jeremy’s public relations and communications experience in the sports and media industries will be a tremendous asset for Outlyr,” said Marci Doyle, executive vice-president at Outlyr.  “Jeremy and I worked together for many years during his Golf Channel tenure. He brings a tremendous passion for the golf industry and is a welcome addition to our team. We look forward to his immediate impact for our clients and events.”

For the last 14 years, Friedman oversaw day-to-day public relations initiatives for Golf Channel and NBC Sports, handling publicity for the networks’ award-winning live tournament golf coverage and their owned-and-operated golf events, including the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament and the East Lake Cup collegiate championship. He also managed public relations efforts for Golf Channel’s talent relations, original productions, and Golf Films divisions, including serving as lead publicist for the network’s popular Big Break reality series.

Prior to Golf Channel, Friedman worked in New York for sports marketing agency Momentum, handling publicity for Buick’s title sponsored PGA TOUR events, the Buick Scramble amateur golf tournament, NASTAR ski racing program and marketing/promotions for Verizon Wireless. He began his career in Atlanta as team publicist for the Colorado Silver Bullets women’s professional baseball team, and served as Muhammad Ali’s publicist for the Muhammad Ali Cup International Amateur Boxing Challenge in Louisville, Ky.

Friedman is a graduate of the University of Georgia and lives in Orlando, Fla.
